I have a bad feeling about the next few weeks

Something in my gut tells me that something is rotten in the United States of America. I believe that Bush and his cronies (both inside and peripheral) are getting set to wage an assault on the U.S. and an assault on the truth.
For one thing, the "Saddam had WMDs when we invaded but shipped them to Syria" meme is gaining new traction, as Rep. John Hoekstra is leading a new crusade. New tapes supposedly "prove" WMD's, although they have not yet been translated and the right is jumping to conclusions. Something tells me that we will "find" WMDs in the near future, the question is whether or not they're actually real. Of course, real or not, any "discovery" will convince the sheeplee that Bush was "correct" and then he can gloat all he wants (possibly do another "Mission Accomplished" landing on an aircraft carrier.)

Another thing that he's trying to get is Social Security phaseout. He just won't quit, and is sticking the privatization plan in this year's budget. He's either dilusional and thinks that it can be passed or is doing this as a way to flip the bird to us.

Another third item that worries me is the possible end of the unregulated internet. While this is a peripheral issue relative to Trumped WMDs and revived Privatized Social Security, it's and issue that can choke the freedom of speech on the internet. Imagine a World Wide Web that's a gated community, and a DU or DKos that are cut off from it by Verizon or Time Warner.

My guts have been in a knot for about a month now. Just about the time they settle down, the chimp throws out another clue to what's coming.

I had a long talk with a friend this morning and we came up with a big one to add to the list in the OP:

The ECONOMY.

+I think the housing market is on the verge of crashing.
+I think the healthcare industry is about to deflate big time because more and more
the average family cannot afford medical care and skip going to the doctor, even for moderate illness.
+The savings rate is the lowest it's been since the Great Depression.
There is a reason the chimp's administration has been playing games with economic reports.
+The job market is drying up. Local big boxes have instituted hiring freezes. Graduating teachers remain unemployed. Few jobs for
the college educated in my region. I know I've been looking for one to pay for my skyrocketing health insurance.
+High fuel prices are jacking up the price of everything else from groceries to electricity to home heating - important stuff

It's scary shit, I tell ya.

* Iran's opening of their oil exchange using Euro's
* Renewal of Patriot Act and the threats by the administration if we don't renew

I've felt for a couple weeks now that everything was coming to a head in March. I guess they hope that we all be distracted watching basketball.
