1) Not every state has the death penalty.

2) We try to elect the right government. In case you haven't been watching the news there have been a couple of questions regarding the legitimacy of the last two and the answers as to why were pushed aside first by 9/11 (look it up, the Bush v. Gore investigation results were due to be presented to congress on 9/11/2001), and later by a republican government who did not think there was an issue last time because they won(read about Ohio & Diebold).

3) Not all of us hero worship military action nor show disdain for non-military solutions. Again I feel you've lumped us all together under the banner of the leader WE HATE AND DID NOT ELECT!


Do us a favor, and read a newspaper or two before you start condemning all Americans because we were hijacked by a psychopath.

1) the death penalty is not only necessary, but used too infrequently in this country (I mean it, you don't have to like it).

2) I really don't care what Canada (or the rest of the world) thinks of us, we have our own problems right now (which I believe I tried to illustrate).

3) What I do with my time is my business and how you feel about it is inconsequential to me.

If the OPs point was strictly the death penalty, they would have said so, but instead the OP lumped it in with several other, drastically invalid points. I think I made it clear (now) that I disagree with, well, everything the OP had to say.

I say again, badgering someone with "HAVE YOU, HAVE YOU, HAVE YOU" is not only not the way to get your point across, but it also tends to make people (meaning me) not want to pull the punches I tried to pull for two posts. But you asked so there it is.

My primary points had nothing to do with the death penalty (which is why my comment towards it was brief) and were intentionally focused at the OPs comments about elections and hero worship of the military.

is that when you use injection, how do you know the guy is really dead?

Jose Padilla disappears into secret custody, and after Ali Mohamed gets
convicted of involvement in the African embassy bombings he disappears
into the prison labyrynth and never gets sentenced, and Tim McVeigh
supposedly gets executed, how do you know these guys aren't in Witness
Protection somewhere?
