2. The Big 8 is still a question whether it's legitimate or not.
Someone on the other thread seems to think it is a valid committee. I'm still trying to get more information on that one.

If you were the one that recommended this page, could you go to the link that has all the information and recommend that one instead? I wouldn't mind getting more exposure so we can get to the bottom of how these groups are formed and how they are suppose to operate.

3. I wasn't but I will recommend the other one
I do believe the group of 8 is legit. It dates from at least the Reagan era as it came up in regards to Iran Contra.

4. Interesting.
I'd like to learn more why Feinstein felt the briefings to the Big 8 violated the law? Unless she means that using it as an excuse to circumvent the Judicary Committee violated the law?

5. because this policy isn't a covert action
or at least it arguably isn't. I think the gang of 8 notification is supposed to be reserved for actions that are one time only things, not ongoing operations such as the spying.
