Apparently a big group of Evangelical churches want the government to take action on global warming.

1. I was just reading that as well
interesting... well, they are practicing what they preach, in this case. I give them

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A group of 85 evangelical Christian leaders on Wednesday backed legislation opposed by the White House to cut carbon dioxide emissions, kicking off a campaign to mobilize religious conservatives to combat global warming.

The group which included mega-church pastors, Christian college presidents, religious broadcasters and writers, also unveiled a full-page advertisement to run in Thursday's New York Times and a television ad it hopes to screen nationally.

"With God's help, we can stop global warming for our kids, our world and our Lord," the television spot declared.

9. WTF
:wtf:
"The Global Pastors Network's "Billion Souls Initiative" aims to shorten the path to Judgment Day by partnering church resources with the latest communications systems to spread the Gospel of Jesus.

In an interview at Faith Central Bible Church in Inglewood, James Davis, president of the campaign, said, "Jesus Christ commissioned his disciples to go to the ends of the Earth and tell everyone how they could achieve eternal life.

"As we advance around the world, we'll be shortening the time needed to fulfill that great commission," he said. "Then, the Bible says, the end will come."

Added Davis: "The current generation may actually live long enough to see this.""
:wtf: :puke:

4. There are many different flavors of evangelicals. I consider myself
to be evangelical because I go out of my way to share my vision of the faith, but I am in no way a rapturist. :)

Here are some other Christian groups working to save the environment: http://www.hostdiva.com/liberalchristians/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=113&Itemid=31&limit=1&limitstart=1

and salification through irrigation destroyed the fertile land and turned it into a dessert.

That is what I mean. Historians think that is where the story of Adam & Eve is from.
