Human error is blamed for a Glasgow, Scotland, cancer center giving a teenage
patient a potentially fatal overdose of radiation, a report said Wednesday.
Lisa Norris, 15, was given too much radiation in each of her sessions of
brain cancer treatment at the Beatson Oncology Center.
Doctors warned the girl's family the results could be deadly.
Staff at the hospital were said to be extremely distraught over the case.
It is understood the girl was given the overdose at each radiation session - a total of 17 times.

The insurgency has had another impact on children's lives, inspiring
them to play 'terrorist and policeman' rather than 'cops and robbers'.
"I shot the terrorist, I shot the terrorist," shouted Omar, eight, as
he played with his brother and two friends at the zoo.
Asked why they were playing such a game, he said
"There are a lot of terrorists so we have to fight."
At the entrance to the zoo, a toy vendor said he had swapped plastic
cars and dolls for plastic Kalashnikovs, other rifles and even plastic mortars.
"These toys are all the rage now. It is what children want," said
Maan Mohammed, 22, noting that business was booming.
Even though people were making the most of the holiday, the
celebrations were much more low-key than before the US-led invasion in March 2003.
