There is a link to listen to the whole show. Joe was great....

The New Brinksmanship: Iran's Nuclear Threat
by Terry Gross

Fresh Air from WHYY, February 8, 2006 · Iran's attempts to restart its nuclear program in defiance of the International Atomic Energy Agency is a game of nuclear chicken, says Joseph Cirincione, the director for non-proliferation at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

Cirincione specializes in defense and proliferation issues at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. He is the senior associate and director of the Non-Proliferation Project.

I listened to most of this show today and I have to say Joe called out the warmongering media especially Fox. He pointed out how a strike on Iran's facilities he had visited would be relatively easy and swift. He said the fallout would be horrendous though and laid out what we all have said here as the consequences. He said that is why the misadministraition won't do it. I hope he is right but I still have my doubts. The folks in charge are insane and I don't think Joe has factored that into the equation. :scared:

1. The political fallout or the nuclear? Cause given that we use
depleted uranium in countries we're 'liberating' I doubt we'd have a care about fallout in a country we hate. (Although given the wind shift could move the cloud into countries we're allied with, there would indeed be political fallout.)

2. Does he believe they care about consequences,...in spite of their,...
,...long LONG list of abuses? They not only believe they are untouchable, they do whatever it takes to BE untouchable.

3. It's good to hear someone saying this aloud, make me have some hope for
the future. Then it starts creeping back in BUSSSSSH, and i quickly snap back to ugly reality!

5. It was a voice of calm amidst the M$M hysteria
seriously listen at the link. It was calming but I suspect he is wrong. :(

4. I like him, and respect his opinions. I really hope he's right, but like
others, I wonder if he's factored "the crazies" into his equation.

6. I'd love to think he was right . . . but he's making assumptions . . .
that are simply inaccurate . . . for example, that the BushCo cretins are rational . . . or that they care one whit about the consequences of their actions . . . when and where have they ever demonstrated that kind of concern? . . .
