Ex-FEMA chief: I may tell all about Katrina
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Former disaster agency chief Michael Brown is indicating he is ready to reveal his correspondence with President Bush and other officials during Hurricane Katrina unless the White House forbids it and offers legal support.

Brown's stance, in a letter obtained Wednesday by The Associated Press, follows senators' complaints that the White House is refusing to answer questions or release documents about advice given to Bush concerning the August 29 storm.

4. He's gonna testify Friday
Brown is set to testify Friday at a Senate inquiry of the slow government response to Katrina.

"What I wish I had done was, frankly, just either quit earlier or whatever and gone to certain friends that I can't talk about and said we got to fix this -- I mean, what's going on is nuts," Brown said, according to a Senate transcript of the meeting.

12. What does Brownie mean when he says this about "friends"?
"What I wish I had done was, frankly, just either quit earlier or whatever and gone to certain friends that I can't talk about and said we got to fix this -- I mean, what's going on is nuts," Brown said, according to a Senate transcript of the meeting.

I wonder if he is referring to Bush, Chertoff or someone else. The whole thing sounds to me like he wants to talk, maybe to get some of the heat off of him for the Katrina debacle. I always thought Chertoff got off much too easily in this mess.

I'm curious...anyone know what it cost us to create the DHS and fold FEMA into it?

9. Heh? Look for the Bait and Switch
Remember, he's STILL getting paid by Bushco. as a "consultant".

He'll "reveal all" alright. It'll be something like "The President was highly engaged and tried to do everything he could! That's the truth!".

13. Well, either Brown, who is still on the Bushco payroll,
Is trying to provide some sort of bizarre cover for his boss, or he has a personal death wish. Because if Brown has these sorts of goods on Bush, and is publicly trying to blackmail the man, well, there have been "suicides" before of those folks who were. . .ahem. . .inconvienent to Bushco.
