Even here the talk is escalating |
|
Yesterday, my mother tells me of a story I thought you all would be interested in. My mother goes to visit my father in a nursing home. This nursing home has its own chapel and chaplain. The chaplain attended a theology meeting yesterday. Unfortunately - I do not know who the main speaker was....but his whole speech was centered on the importance of impeaching President Bush.
Yes - you heard me correctly - a religious minister/chaplain/clergy is coming out strongly against Bush and his policies. They are very very concerned/worried about how the world is turning and how the leader of the free(?) world is rapidly deteriorating into a imperialistic power that blithely and arrogently tortures people, imprisons them without due process, the Iraq war, spying on Americans...etc, etc, etc.
The chaplain explained to the coffee row what the meeting entailed. I have no idea if there was an actionable plan that came out of that meeting - you know up here we have little or no say in american policies....but I did find it intrigueing that the churches are openly discussing the same sorts of issues we are here on DU. If the church leaders are openly discussing this - and they appear to be - then it stands to reason that Bush's leadership is in greater danger than even we guess.

1. What state is your father in? |
|
If you do not mind my asking. I was just curious. I wish other religious clergy would come out against shrub. Don't they see that he is not a Christian?

2. our country is in greater danger than we ever suspected |

We are in serious crisis. His handling of the proposed budget in itself is criminal.
We won't be fooled again

4. Mainstream churches have dropped the ball forever |
|
on this stuff because they've been afraid of offending well heeled GOP church members. They've allowed themselves to be pushed into what really is an unchristian position by that fear of losing money out of their collection plates.
It's high bloody time they start getting back on message. They don't have to mention Supid or his party, just the bastardized Cavinism that is being paraded as Christianity by the rich and powerful. People will get the point. They've all heard the teachings. They know, deep down, this Stupid and his gang of criminals do everything completely opposite to the teachings.
The more preachers get on message, the more help we will have deposing the would-be monarchy and ridding ourselves of the bad laws they've passed to protect themselves.
