I missed this one if it was posted earlier, my son sent it to me today and asked me why we never hear about the protests. Video is great..wish I could have been there.

Washington (AP) - Holding signs that read "Bush Step Down," about a thousand protesters have been marching on the National Mall and near the White House to protest the president and his policies.

Organizers had been expecting about five to ten thousand people to turn out, but bad weather is being blamed for a lower turnout.

Protesters say the demonstration is to call attention to the direction the president is taking the country, which some of them say is a "dangerous" one.

D.C. police did add extra officers for the event, and have been implementing rolling street closures as the rally continues

1. I was there!

When we got there about 1130, it wasn't raining and about 2,000 people were there. About 1230 or 1 it started pouring rain. Everyone was drenched but for awhile the number had reached about 5,000. It quickly went back down as the weather got colder and wetter.

CNN was there and they did a little blurb on it that afternoon. It wasn't much but anything is better than nothing
