GOP operatives are busy trying to confuse the media and the American people by planting the idea that the LEGAL donations made to Reid by the tribes is the same as the money Repubs took from Abramoff.

The simple fact is that the TRIBE MONEY WASN"T ILLEGAL when donated on its own. It wasn't dirty UNTIL ABRAMOFF TOOK IT FRAUDULENTLY AND USED IT TO BRIBE HIS PET REPUBLICANS.

Read the article about Reid again - You can't find any crime in that article, no matter how they stretch it out to imply a link to Abramoff.

I'm talking about the appearance of impropriety. If you don't think that counts, you're not dealing in reality. Yes, I know tribes have always given to dems, and I know that the tribes that signed up with Abramoff gave more to dems before they signed up with him than after, but what I don't know is if only repubs were bribed. Did the tribes in question always give to Reid or only after signing on with Abramoff?
