As so many Americans like the US gov spying on them...i have an IDEA!
After all, say (idiot) Americans, "I have nothing to hide!"

So how about this!

1. US gov to carry on reading our email and letters, and listening in on our phone conversations any time they like, day or night, no warrants necessary. After all, we have nothing to hide. Those who do have something to hide will be caught & the rest of us will remain safe!

2. US gov to check on what we buy, what we read, what groups we donate to and what sites we log into on the net. No warrants necessary, of course. After all, we have nothing to hide. Those who do have something to hide will be caught & the rest of us will remain safe!

3. SS police force allowed to search our homes, any time, day or night, no warrant required of course. After all, we have nothing to hide. Those who do have something to hide will be caught & the rest of us will remain safe!

4. Any & all US police free to search us any time, day or night; in our autos, on busses or trains, standing in line at the shops, walking down the street. After all, we have nothing to hide. Those who do have something to hide will be caught & the rest of us will remain safe!

5. Spy cameras and listening devices planted in every American home. After all, we have nothing to hide. Those who do have something to hide will be caught & the rest of us will remain safe!

After all, we have nothing to hide! And this IS what a free and democratic society is all about, right?

Right?

3. I was once told
in a church that I needed to learn that there was much freedom in learning to follow the rules and accept when I broke them, that I had to repent and correct what I had done. What had I done? I dressed in a manner not considered appropriate, my dress had a low back on it. It made men look at me with "that" in mind.

Now I was pretty young at the time but even then I was unable to find the freedom in having every bit of my life spelled out or controlled. I was gone shortly after that incident.

This is the kind of stuff that my fundie relatives talk about. Having others watch you, correct you and set you on what they think is the right track. To them that is freedom. It is no surprise to anyone who has ever been even on the fringes of that society why it happens and why it is now so acceptable from our government.

4. So I wonder why they're so opposed to Stalin's & Hitler's regimes?

Other than the victims having been Jews.

If the victims were liberals (they were) and Muslims, would they then be ok with a Hitler or Stalin-style (or Hussein-style) American state?

Yes.

5. Doesn't God already have this covered?
Why would Republicans want to duplicate the efforts of the Almighty?

:D

6. I told my dittohead coworker - what if they get nude pics of your daughter
His reply "I'd kill em"
"oh yeah, how will you ever know? They don't have to tell you when they're spying on you. They could be parked across the street from your house with microphones and cameras watching everything you do. They could have snuck into your house and installed little cameras and bugs.... but that's okay, you have nothing to hide, do you?"
After a couple more seconds of blubbering on his side, I added....
"just think, you may end up seeing them one day on the internet. Along with her name and address"

Give him something to think about. Now I'll try to talk my buddy with a big white Chevy van into parking it across from his house now and then when we're out hanging in that neighborhood, just for the fun of it.

7. I'll make a deal so that everybody's happy. Those who 'don't mind'
the government and Bush snooping into their private lives and conversations can allow them to continue, without warrants. That will keep those folks happy about Chimpy keeping them safe. Chimpy & Co. will be happy to continue subverting those people's civil rights.

And for those of use who do mind and would like to see the Constitution remain in tact: They can stop the F**k doing it to us!!

9. But we free...I mean "unmonitored" people may have something to
hide and then the unfree...I mean the "kept safe" people wouldn't be safe.

SAFETY IS WHAT FREEDOM IS ALL ABOUT!

Howard Hughes understood that.
