Limbaugh likes analogy that Obama "is the Donovan McNabb of the Senate"
Edited on Thu Feb-09-06 06:47 PM by Fenris
Not that anyone should be surprised that racist fuck agrees with his racist caller.

On February 7, nationally syndicated radio host Rush Limbaugh said he "kind of likes" a caller's statement that Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) "is the Donovan McNabb of the U.S. Senate." The exchange followed Limbaugh's discussion of the recent dispute between Obama and Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) over lobbying reform and was an apparent reference to Limbaugh's controversial comments about McNabb, who plays quarterback in the National Football League for the Philadelphia Eagles.

<...>

On February 7, a caller told Limbaugh: "Barack Obama is the Donovan McNabb of the Senate. He's overrated, and he's going to get a free pass by the media. If you listen to him talk, nothing comes out of his mouth -- it's spin. He was on a show a couple of weeks ago. He just got back from Iraq. And they put this guy on a pedestal. He says nothing at the end of the day -- nothing at all. And he's the rising star."

Asked by Limbaugh, "Why do you think he's the rising star?," the caller responded: "Oh, they're putting him up because he's well spoken, he's well mannered, he gets in front of the camera, he has a presence, but he says nothing." The caller added: "He looks -- he's like a Bill Clinton, but just a different shade, that's all."

2. I might be offended by Limbaugh's statement . . .
If I knew what the fuck he was talking about.

Sometimes the codewords get so ingrown and idiosyncratic that no one else can translate what you're saying. In religious circles, I think they call it "glossolalia"

7. That's nothing. A couple of days ago he was "coon talking" if you'll
forgive the expression. I can't describe it any other way, except maybe to say he was talking like "Amos and Andy" for a moment, saying that McCain found out that the lefties like it when he's criticizing Bush, but "dey don't like dat" when he talks about Obama.

8. Well, it's official, Obama's a threat
and as most anyone could've predicted, due for some rightwing smackabout. Setting him up Mr. Nice Guy McCain was brilliant but following it up with Limpballs drained all gravitas from the nonissue. I read that clip and actually laughed out loud. What would I do without a joke a day? First Maitlin and then this - a twofer!!

13. I hope Obama
get's over his sports hernia.

Here's a sport casting tip. When on a national televised T.V. show that features many African American broad casters that are mostly ex-players that get paid to criticize mostly other African American athletes... don't tell them they give athletes a free pass because of their race? Rush depended on his audience always buying his liberal media bias moans. Too bad he found out a lot of NFL reports are far from liberal.
