9. You're right...
Section 2. Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress.
http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/data/constitution/amendment25/

But...this is a Republican controlled Senate & House, as we well know. Anything can happen.

12. Public opinion will drive events
to a large degree. I think the public and many in Congress have finally had enough of BushCo.

11. Fitzgerald has it. Today's Truthout story claims two witnesses
of Cheney directing the campaign to discredit Joe Wilson.

Both unnamed witnesses said they'd testified before Fitzgerald's GJ.

So, I am sitting here wondering. If Fitzgerald knows why hasn't he acted?

Does he think he can't meet some requirement of some law?
Was he hoping that Libby would roll on Cheney? If he has other witnesses why would he need roll Libby?

I admit to not knowing how to consider implications of today's stories.

13. He's just making sure he has a rock solid case
We are talking about taking down the top leadership of the US. This is not a trivial matter. Fitzgerald knows he has to dot every i and cross every t.

18. I think Fitz is very cautious
........meaning that if he indicts someone he wants the charges to stick. He doesn't want to bring charges against someone and have them wiggle out of them.

19. I agree. I'm sure he wants as close to an air tight case as he can get.
So does that mean anything relative to today's stories? Maybe, maybe not.
