So are we FINALLY getting to the tipping point on criminal Bush? |
|
More and more stories seem to be coming out implicating Bush and his pals in all kinds of criminal stuff. Where do you think we are in our approach to the tipping point? Half way there? Two-thirds there? Or finally, FINALLY at the point when folks will start talking seriously about kicking the boy king out?

4. Until they find him in a motel trysting with a transvestite |
|
my guess is there will continue to be about 35% of the country that thinks he's just dandy. I'm despairing that there is such a thing as a "tipping point".
As Pogo used to say: "We have met the enemy and he is us."

Stupidity is a common human condition.
There are actually more Bush supporters in Europe than there are in the US. Of course, they don't have to live with him.

32. The majority hate him, as is the case here |
|
However, he still has substantial popularity numbers in the UK and in Russia (oddly enough). He's more popular in two major Russian polls and some polls of the UK than he is here.
France and Germany hate him overwhelmingly, however they usually polls as having a deep dislike for US Presidents (they just hate this one more, as is only fitting).
This is only the beginning of the slide. He'll be going down to universal infinite infamy before long (outside just my house, I mean).

|
I think its going to take more time. Most smart people have a clue about what is going on at this point, but convincing the stupid people will take something like a blowjob, and at such a level that the media can't ignore it, which will be tough.

10. I wish I could figure it out . . . |
|
. . . but I can't.
We live in a country where day is nite, evil is good, traitors are heroes, etc. to the people who are in charge.
And over half the populace is too stupid, too drugged, too infatuated with their lifestyles, too scared, WHATEVER . . . to see what is right in front of their faces.
I think they will fall eventually, but every day they are causing such damage to the system that used to protect the powerless. It is a terrible shame that it's taking so long. But it will eventually happen.

been at 38-41 % approval rating for year now. I'd say everyone that's going to tip has tipped. The question really has become "will the media figure out 60 % of the nation thinks Bush is horrible and it's ok to talk about him in negative terms." The recent hires at CNN seem to say "nope".

CNN slayed Bush tonight on The Situation Room.
They spilled the beans: Abramoff messages, Libby's superiors (notice this is plural, not singular - more than one superior) told him to release highly confidential info to journalists, the speculation that the LA terror plot aversion announcement had funny timing, etc.
I couldn't believe it!

18. They are on the defense, that's for sure. |
|
The bad news is flowing faster and from more directions than they can control and spin their message. I think this so-called "Liberty Bomber" is interesting, both in that they're obviously trying to change the subject back to terror attacks and the fact that it is not being taken seriously. Pretty risky, too....they'll need to release a lot more verifiable facts, which I think is impossible. That will further underscore that they are not truthful about this GWOT.
They've pretty much shot their credibility wad.

20. The further we go without correction, the worse the reckoning |
|
I truly fear for where all this is going to take us. The further down the road we go before there is a corrective action, the worse and the more dangerous that corrective action will be. This is why I get so upset by the tutu-wearing Democrats who think, after all this, that they can "get along" with the Republicans. That's why I get so upset by the DLCers who are either blind to what is happening, or are actual fifth columnists from the evil side.
I keep thinking that the further things go in the direction they are going, the higher the chances of a really bad thing having to happen to fix it.
Then, there are all these issues that are themselves worrisome. Loss of liberties, preemptive wars, ignoring science, unchecked executive power, unchecked corporate power, unprecidented national debts, inability to deal with natural disasters, etc. What is it going to take? What kind of catastrophe will be required before the country says...
Nevermind. I'll say it, myself. "Oh my God! What *have* we done?"

could walk down Pennsylvania Avenue naked, covered in horse shit, eating a dead baby, shooting an AK-47 willy-nilly into the crowd, coked to the gills, and masturbating a monkey and the media would praise him for it and 38-41% of America would cheer. After all, he is a godly man.

But we may be getting near one. I heard most of the NSA hearings on streaming audio, and both Dems and Repubs were jumping on Gonzales. Only two or three Repubs were defending him.

31. Something has changed |
|
The media is not ignoring these facts now. They are not putting a big spin on it. This is being covered, and not buried under the Briton who murdered his wife and little baby. A horror, to be sure, but not big enough to ignore other facts.
Something has changed. Something is different.
I think NOW is the time when the Dems need to come forward with a plan for the Future of America. Strike while the iron is hot. They need to be screaming bloody murder, just like the Repugs would do if the situation were reversed.
Remember how Clinton was treated - turn about is fair play, they made the rules!
