109th CONGRESS

1st Session

H. J. RES. 9

Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.

IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Nice huh?!:puke:

I've been keeping an eye on both since earlier last year, really no movement at all. Hopefully it stays that way.

14. that may the scariest thing I've ever seen . . .
I know we've been speculating on the possibility of Bush somehow cancelling the 2008 elections under the guise of "national emergency" . . .

maybe they're just leaving open the possibliity that he may die in office . . . a better guess would be BushCo approved (or maybe wrote) the text, and they know that George W. Bush will still be president on January 20, 2009 . . .

while this seems to support our speculations, it's not something I'm at all happy about . . . but I am damned suspicious . . . and concerned . . . and frightened . . . particularly when I close my eyes, clear my mind, and suddenly realize that this is real!

16. Such attempt
at grabbing power will not be acceptable by Americans
I do not think Americans will take this quitely if bush try to stay on.
Even the republicans public will be up in arms.
That is one surefire way to bring total choas to the US.
Only an idiot cannot see the danger of this course of action.

OOOps he is an idoit a useful tool for the itelligent one with hidden agenda.

26. All that is needed in the US for martial law to begin
Is another "terrorist attack" in this country. Poll after poll has shown that well over sixty percent of Americans would welcome martial law under those circumstances. So, say another "terrorist attack" happens, oh, say on 9/11 of '08. The call for martial law would go up, Bushco would "reluctantly" follow through with it, and all of those people who dare to complain with be shouted down at best, and at worst, stripped of their citizenship and sent to Gitmo for some extraordinary rendition, probably for the rest of their short, short lives.

Bushco has successfully made fear into a tool to get what he wants, and somehow I doubt that neither he, nor the cabal that props his ass up, is going to go quietly in '08. Either they will try for this outright grab for power, or they will again successfully engineer another theft of the election. And martial law would provide lots and lots of cover for this little cabal to get rid of all their enemies out there. I wouldn't put it past them.

He could die in office. They don't carve the final date until it happens. That's doesn't mean that they are in on a secret plot of any kind.

The chicken little paranoia is embarrassing the rest of us.

18. Posts like this make DU and liberal blogs look stupid.
If he dies today, it reads "2001-2006." If he is removed from office next year, it reads "2001-2007."

His term ends in 2009. He won't necessarily be president that long.

34. Pardon me?
You saw my post where? Offering legitimate criticism makes me a "Freeper IDIOT"?

This was a dumb "observation." It is quite normal to mark the present administration without an end date.

I hate Bush as much as the next guy, but this isn't some kind of evidence that he's declared himself emperor. There is much more compelling evidence elsewhere.

25. A rhetorical question and a little off topic.
If tomorrow some thugs tried to vandalize and smash the statue to smithereens, would National Guard soldiers in the vicinity attempt to stop them, or would they stand by and watch?

30. How many bronze sculptures did Saddam have of himself?
We are through the looking glass where villains are heroes and the queen of hearts is evil and an AWOL soldier gets a memorial bronze sculpture honoring his service.

Just when I think it can't get any worse. And actually, this would be funny if it weren't so friggin scary. How many sculptures did Saddam have of himself?

He may not be president until 2009; I think 9 of the 43 presidents have died in office and 1 resigned.
