The holes aren't too deep... They're right under the surface. Scratch em a bit and bang---- they pop out. Just take a look at Media Matters' web site tonight and you'll see what I mean.

How any Black man could be in the Republican party is beyond me.

2. The thought of Repub Blacks makes me scratch my head too...
unless their real color is green... the color of money. That being said, and with the knowledge that there is only a 2% approval rating of the Shrub by Blacks... there sure are a lot more greedy white people than Black people!

7. It's pretty simple really... A whole lot of African Americans belong to
Edited on Thu Feb-09-06 09:00 PM by bush_is_wacko
Baptist churches. Homosexuality is a BIG deal to them. Baptists really do take their bibles literally. It is a fire and brimstone style of religion. I've been to exactly 2 al white Baptist churches and I was really blown away by the fact that parents let their children sit on the floor right in front of the preacher while he sits there telling them they are all sinners, hands flailing and hitting the podium all the while. I would NEVER let my children learn religion that way, NEVER! You can thank all those nice folks that gave the "heathens" religion when they were brought to America as slaves.

I am not calling anyone a heathen, BTW, just referring to what all those southerners who owned slaves thought of them and their lack of faith in the southern religion!

I don't think most African Americans realize that they are still following the religion their greatest persecutors passed down to them. It's kind of sad really.

On Edit: BAPTIST often = REPUBLICAN

True. These churches should not consider themselves as
Christian. They do not espouse Christ's ideals of love and forgiveness.

I do not share the respect shown to the Founding Fathers. They were both racist and sexist and very much for the rich at the cost to the poor. Bushbots.

13. Still, bashing a Black church like that
Is just wrong!

Black people of strong faith are some of our most valuable citizens. Not everyone can be Catholic or Methodist Christians... there are many different religions because there are many different levels of spirituality.

You are not giving Black people enough credit here and I think that is wrong. Who are you to judge their church?

14. Jesse Jackson gave a great talk on that "topic" awhile back
He basically told his church audience to grow the fuck up, and start looking at issues that were personally important to them, like poverty, health care, strong families, keeping crime out of neighborhoods...and stop waving the 'oooooh, gay!' shirt....

He didn't say it like that, but that was his point. It was well done, and slammed the point home--worry about the BIG STUFF, ya putzes!!!

8. Really ??? - Here's What JC Watt's Father Had To Say On The Subject:
JC Watts -> Black Man...

<snip>

Of the 271 Republicans in the House and Senate, Watts is the only African American and one of only four nonwhites. Although several black Republicans are running in November, none is favored to win, raising the prospect that Republicans may be without a black member of Congress for several years to come.

It is a situation, as the party is trying to expand its traditional white base, that alarms some Republican leaders.

President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney each phoned Watts in an attempt to talk him out of his decision, which apparently was reached over the weekend. House Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Ill., said he was disappointed, and Republican strategists acknowledged that it would be harder to persuade black Americans -- who already vote overwhelmingly for Democrats -- to join their party.

Probably no one articulates the Republican Party's predicament better than Watts' father, a lifelong Democrat.

"A black man voting for the Republicans makes about as much sense as a chicken voting for Col. Sanders," the elder Watts has said on more than one occasion.

<snip>

22. Hmmmmm.
Another black man checking in here . . . I'd like to know how it is racist as well. It's simply a fact. Sometimes things need to be said without political correctness. Hell, I'd take it a step further. How can a woman or any other minority be in the Republican party? The Republican party represents the rich white man and that's it. Democrats aren't much better but most blacks pick the lesser of the two evils.

27. Since only about 2% of African Americans support Busholini
are you advancing the despicable racial slur that the other 98% are not intelligent?

Or, since Republicans have opposed every civil rights measure in at least 50 years, wouldn't it be more accurate to say that the Bush supporters are the ones who aren't so smart?

What have Democrats done? Well, starting with Jack and Bobby Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson and the Civil Rights Act... a whole hell of a lot more than Bush's brownshirts...

38. Seriously
Is this a freaking joke? What has the Republican party as it is today done for Black America? Talk about how lazy and stupid we are? Act like we all have abortions and baby-daddies? Advocate killing every black baby? Talk about how electing Strom Thurmond would have been better for the USA back in the day? Talk about how unpatriotic we are even when we fought in wars we were treated like dirt when we came back to the USA? Did the Repubs help Black America out during Katrina? Does the Repub party seek to understand plights concerning blacks or do they just say "pull ya self up from dem bootstraps," even though some have no boots? Or is it good when the Repubs tell us how there is no racism, racial profiling is good, there was nothing wrong with beating up that black dude on the video tape, etc.?

I'm waiting . . .
