I can't find anything since she evacuated. Here's the thread where she explains.

6. NancyG is in an iffy location too
NancyG is in Monte Rio, near where the highest water was expected on the Russian River. Webster Green, who also lives on the Russian River, reported that his place was flooded. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=141x18414#18428

The second storm is pushing on shore. Rainwise it's not as bad as the earlier one but the North Bay counties don't need any more water for a while. There are wind gusts up to about 50 MPH with this one. The wind will topple more trees and that may even trigger more mudslides.

Pachamama lives in Ross and there have been no specific reports on the news about that town. The neighboring community of San Anselmo had significant flooding in the downtown area.

10. Sonoma County/Marin Update
Edited on Mon Jan-02-06 03:11 AM by redacted
Hi everybody! We live in Sonoma County in Santa Rosa (right near you, Trouble in Winter, so if you see this, PM me we'd love to chat.)

The major rain seems to be over. A few showers will follow in the next day or so. It's not the worst we've ever seen here, but it was a nasty mess.

To the very best of my knowledge there were no fatalities in the area. We had a second storm today and the major freeways in the North bay have been closed in places. Hwy 12 and 29 will not be open for a while. I'll check the CHP report in a few and repost then.

Here are some photos of what San Anselmo looks like (very near Pachamama).

I am sure she is fine, and just hope she didn't get arrested for stealing those rice krispy treats ;-)

Guerneville is under water, and NancyG I am sure is unable to leave her home, but she said she was out of the flood plain and I am sure she is fine as well. Possibly without power. I'll try to check that. People in that area know floods, and it's usually pretty well defined who will flood and who will not.

Oh and we drove by Petaluma about 3 PM Saturday and it was already flooded -- I am guessing that even though it did not make the news -- it's a big muddy mess in areas.

Let's just hope it all drains quickly so my clients (mostly wineries) don't lose any vines.

Thanks for everyone's concerns. I'll post more in a bit and let's keep this kicked so when Pacha and Nancy come back they'll see it.
