5. Heckuvajob Brownie to testify today...
Ex-FEMA director Brown to tell his side

By JOSEPH STRAW, Journal Register News Service02/10/2006

WASHINGTON -- Former FEMA director Michael Brown returns to Capitol Hill today for more grilling by members of Congress, but this time he may have far more answers about what the White House knew about Hurricane Katrina’s devastation and when.

Brown, who resigned his post in the aftermath of the disastrous August storm, is scheduled to appear today before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee as part of the panel’s investigation.

Last month U.S. Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman, D-Conn, the committee’s ranking member, complained the Bush Ad-ministration was stone-walling the inquiry.

During a closed-door interview by committee staff, Lieberman said administration lawyers stopped Brown from answering specific questions about his interaction with senior White House officials during and after the storm.

Last week, however, Brown’s private attorney indicated Brown will answer all of the committee’s questions about his agency’s response to the storm.

Should be interesting, eh? ;)

9. You know, a comic friend of mine commented about the
2000 selection this way: "For one brief shining moment, we were Guatemala."

That moment seems to have extended now for more than five years. The ex head of FEMA is openly blackmailing the fake president.

Paper: White House Knew About Levees Early

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060210/ap_on_go_co/katrina...

By LARA JAKES JORDAN,
Associated Press Writer 30 minutes ago

WASHINGTON - Twenty-eight government agencies, from local Louisiana parishes to the White House, reported that New Orleans levees were breached Aug. 29, the day Hurricane Katrina roared ashore, documents released Thursday show.

A timeline of e-mails, situation updates and weather reports, pieced together by Senate Democrats, indicates the Bush administration knew as early as 8:30 a.m. EST about levee failures that would ultimately lead to massive flooding of the city and its surrounding parishes.

Senate Democrats said the documents raise questions about whether the government moved quickly enough to rescue storm victims once they realized the levees had broken.

Shortly after the disaster, Bush said, "I don't think anybody anticipated the breach of the levees." He later said his comment was meant to suggest that there had been a false sense of relief that the levees had held when the storm passed, only to break a few hours later.

Democrats said the documents showed there was little excuse for the tardy federal response

11. Just read the NY Times article
Chertoff flew to Atlanta for a bird flu meeting as New Orleans went
under water.

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/02/10/politics/10katrina.html?hp&ex=1139634000&en=914abcf6c2b5fc5a&ei=5094&partner=homepage

I can't help but wonder did a certain element want those people to die. Brown flew
over (or had somebody) N.O. and KNEW ABOUT the trapped people the same day N.O.
went under water.

with giant sandbags but it never came. He couldn't reach Bush.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x4523783
thread title (Aug 31, 2005): CNN/New Orleans:"Mayor blasts failure to patch levee breeches" and that's {only the beginning}

Why weren't there sandbags already nearby with more waiting to be deployed? But there was NOTHING. Just rotted old walls that finally gave way exactly as predicted. (There have been persistent reports of explosive DEMOLITION of the levee - I even have links for it. But that's another story and a little more under the tin foil hat.)

I do believe it was deliberate. With time and further developments, I have become ever more certain of it.

17. the best predictor of the future is past action
The current administration is incompetent. They tout strength and protection and when it was needed the most--and when it was KNOWN it would be needed the most--they failed. Bush was eating cake and playing guitar knowing Katrina would kill. He knew disaster was eminent as if there was a letter with the heading: "Katrina to kill thousands when levees break." And he paid as much attention to those warnings as he did the letter head about Bin Laden.

It is as if you want to sweep the incompetency under the rug as if it is past. It is now. They are good at campaigning. They are good at keeping the citizens in fear with threats of terrorism. They are good at pretending to be strong. And they are good at covering up their lies and inaction. Their incompetency continues to be relevant. Especially as they lie and cover-up their fuck-up.

You want to stay focused on solutions? How do we make sure the same actions don't happen next time? What if we have another terror attack with this incompetency in charge?

My cousin in New Orleans, although he may have known the levees would break, is not the most powerful man in the friggin world.

What could they do? Wow. Are you Brownie?

18. Bush was diddling along on his 5-week vacation
Edited on Fri Feb-10-06 09:01 AM by SpiralHawk
at the Imperial Pig Farm upon Crawford, and paid no attention at all to Katrina -- just like he paid no attention to 9/11. He just kept vacationing. That's why loycal and patriotic Americans recognize what failures the BushCo cabal is..

That's what we need to focus on now -- getting the corrupt Bush Cabal out before they do More Harm to America. Patriotically yours, SH
