"Bush is just human, like the rest of us" |
|
Said to me by a RW'er, in response to my suggesting that having a liar in charge of the country was not a good thing for us, or healthy for the residents of Iraq.
I did not throw up on his shoes, although I was tempted.

See if he can say "Clinton is human, just like the rest of us". Lying about getting a blowjob when he's married - well geewhiz, what human male wouldn't do that?

7. I'm curious what this person thought |
|
about Clinton giving in to his primal human desires & dallying with an intern. Did he join in the "Rule of Law" drumbeat for impeachment, or did he say, "Clinton is just human, like the rest of us?"
I'm betting on the former.

9. there are humans like Hitler |
|
and then there re humans like Mother Teresa and Ghandi and Jeffersona and Washington.
Some are essentially slimeball traitors like Admiral Pointdexter and Frist, Alito and so forth and
some are meglomaniacal, evil pieces of shit bastard traitors like Bush (and all his family). I do know what has happened to people like this in the past when the public finally became aware of what trash they really were.
Hear that Pointdexter, you fat slime...?
You got a camp built for us yet?

It's OK to tell them not to worry about trying to be the best they can be. Just be human like the rest of us, and lie your pants off. It's the only way to get ahead in this world!!! x(

25. Which is precisely why the Constitution limits presidential power and did |
|
not provide for an imperial presidency. Why the USA is supposed to be a nation ruled by laws, not mere humans and their whims. The very laws that Bush claims he has the authority to ignore whenever it suits him.

26. human? Then he should stop acting like he's better than everyone else |
|
--for example, pretending he doesn't have to be accountable. Acting all folksy and chummy is NOT the same thing as the implicit recognition that he has to follow the law like everyone else ... anybody who doesn't abide by that principle is NOT a "regular guy", even if he wears jeans and a dirty T-shirt, and puts on a country accent.
Even the ancient Romans made sure that there was a slave following the Emperor around, whispering "remember, thou art mortal" -- just so he wouldn't get above himself -- and that was a culture which worshipped their leaders as gods!
If one is "only human", one is also obliged to think carefully about decisions, listen to advice, and apologize when proven wrong. Bush can't have it both ways. Oh, wait -- that's precisely the problem, isn't it. His people are quick to attack critics as "unpatriotic" or "politicizing sad occasions", but they don't hesitate to do just that ... and this is only one example!

There would have been no way in hell the RWer would have admitted THAT, say, about eight or so years ago.
And I probably WOULD have puked on his shoes. Such blatant double standards just set me off that way.

30. One of those Happy Smiley Assholes... |
|
Driving a REALLY nice "Navigator," bragging how he got a deal on his food (we were in a Chinese take out joint at the time) by talking them into making a dish using tomatoes and bringing in his own tomatoes.
He seemed utterly confused that I was not ready to forgive and forget the pResident's prevarication.
Some rePukes are simply not worth generating the CO2 in verbal response. They're like those assholes that say "...my KID could paint better than that!" out loud in the middle of an art museum.
