3. I know but it's almost like comparing apples to oranges |

Colbert does such brilliant satire- and he is so fast on his feet. Jon is fast too, but in a different way.
Colbert has to twist his message pointing out the right's hypocracy by embodying it with his 'character.'

4. Poor John's in trouble when... |
|
..he has to re-run old Colbert bits from his show. The people he has on his show just aren't up to Colbert's brilliance. Is Samantha Bee on maternity leave or what? Will she be back? She was pretty good, a similar persona to that of Colbert's on-screen one.

They mentioned it briefly last week--called her at home about something during a sketch.

17. I think they have great people. The new ones are coming along and |
|
getting into the groove. Jon Stewart is on the whole the type of humour you can relax with and see yourself reflected in. Funnier more often cause he has so much material and a wider scope. I like all his reporters actually. Yes - colbert was special.. but that is why he has his own show.
Colbert - quick and twisted and you have to catch the twist. Sometimes his body language is so funny. Like when he turned off the "Liberal's" microphone.
Different half hours.

At first, I wasn't too impressed. Maybe because I've never seen O'Really, so I didn't "get" the joke. But lately, Colbert's been blowing me away. The guy's a genius.

last night. during that segment with the author. the melding of his satirical viewpoint with the upside-down logic spewing from necons was stunning.

10. My favorite bit is "Formidable Opponent" |
|
Where he debates himself. That must be awesome to witness in person. I love his paranoid fear of bears. It's such a staple of the screammongers on the right, that childish paranoia that just begs to be mocked. At first I didn't think he could make that character entertaining day in and day out, but he's getting better and better. He's so quick witted in his interviews, too.
I also highly recommend "Wigfield", the book he co-wrote with his Strangers With Candy partners, Amy Sedaris and Paul Dinello.
