I really hope (barring some new candidate) that it's Gore in '08/MANDATE!
I know we are supposed to be focused on '06 Midterm Elections...and I agree and have tried to not think about '08 figuring that we need an "open field" because who knows by then what America will be facing...ruin, collapsed economy, perpetual wars with a draft...the nightmares of three more years of Bush Crime Family are endless.

But, I need to focus. I need some hope and something to work towards to give me that hope. So...I've settled on Al Gore.

With all his warts and baggage from past experience...he's the only bright light I can focus on to keep me going. I'm thinking an Internet/GrassRoots Dem MANDATE coming in 2007 which will force him to run...and will be the HUGEST CAMPAIGN EVER SEEN IN AMERICAN POLITICS.

I don't know who Gore's VP Candidate would be...but we here on the "internets" could "groom" that person and have them ready.

But...if we here in the "NEW MOVEMENT" (to restore integrity and accountability to our Government) could just start working now and give enough to MANDATE AL GORE for PRESIDENT...then WE and not the Think Tanks,Campaign Ops and Lobbyists would really OWN HIM.

Gore would be responsible to his own conscience but also to the "internets" that "Brung him to the Dance!"

I want a President responsible to the PEOPLE ...with a MANDATE FROM THE PEOPLE .. So...I'm thinking GORE 2008! Because he's the only one I can deal with for President ...at THIS POINT...

1. I'm with you, loving Gore for 2008!
That last speech of his was unbelievable, that's the man I want to vote for. He needs to be that man all the time and he won't fail. I've heard he's not interested, but I hope that changes. We so need a real leader in this country and he fits the bill.

4. I Adore Gore
Gore and Kerry, that is what it should of been in 2000, I will never understand for the life of me why he picked Lieberman.

7. Rather than hanging my hopes on Gore...
I want other Dems to step up to the plate and become as outspoken as Gore has been, over the past few months.

I like Gore but what is most appealing (to me) is his recent direct and aggressive approach.

Other Dems could (and should) be doing the same. I want a whole party of Gores, not a party with only a few strong candidates.

9. Gores and Feingolds...
I like 'm both! Feingold has been more of an active leader lately, still being in congress. But like you said, Gore is certainly doing a lot better PR than he was in 2000 with his recent speeches.

14. Let me be Clear Here! I'm not "hanging my hopes on Gore" I'm focusing
on WHAT HE'S DONE...since the Supreme's Installed Bush...I'm looking at him as a "future point" as to where I would like to be going forward.

I need HOPE! I think MANY DU'ers NEED HOPE! Some of us have been fighting a battle against the Bushies philosophy for DECADES and some since CLINTON IMPEACHMENT and some since "BUSH II" was INSTALLED."

So, I'm really trying to speak to folks who have a Loooooong HISTORY of BETRAYAL AND RIDICULE AND UP'S and DOWN'S POLITICALLY...in my post..here.

I think that ACTIVIST GRASSROOTS NEEDS A GOAL...and if Gore can be a GANDI type Role Model...then I'm with them...I need to have HOPE!!

16. Preaching to the choir here.
Whether people thought he was too wooden, to (handled), he earned the right to be our President. He was not perfect. He has learned from his mistakes. The REAL Al Gore is standing before the world now, and I hope he runs for president again. I don't see any other Dem. leader that speaking what I feel as an American.

19. "preaching to choir"...I know...but don't know how many DU'ers still take
him seriously and I've had my "back and forth" with him. I thought tonight that he might be "IT" so I posted because I wondered if anyone else had come to the same conclusion. ...?

8. Gore '08 -- I could go there very easily. VERY easily.
He's the senior statesman of the Democratic Party now, and, for the last four years, he's been showing more fire that any of the elected officials.

If he sustains the level of energy and focus he's exhibited recently, he would make a fine president.

12. I'll kick that baby!
Agree 100%. He's already proved he can win a presidential election.

On the other hand, if the Democratic nominee in 2008 is a bucket of week-old chicken wings from the back of the fridge, I'd vote for them too...

15. A former Bradley delegate in 2000, I will give credit where it's due to
Al Gore.

His public addresses since 2000 have been among the best I've ever heard.

If he enters the primaries I believe he will cancel Sen. Clinton's momentum and emerge with the nomination.

Then, I believe the American people will give him the victory that was stolen from him the first time.

to aim for in a candidate. And, to hold their feet to fire on Gore's issues..now that he's OUTTA the BELTWAY ...and NOT a Lobbyist...
