the sniper program has been pretty robust since the late 60s and 70s. It was true after WWI, WWII, Korea, that snipers were not trained seperate of normal Riflemen. Vietnam provided a crash in the realities of modern war. Following that snipers received intensive training, seperate MOS, seperate unit designation...

10. I actually saw the entire video on the internet...

and it was intense...

There is some music in the background and just video after video of american soldiers being picked off. Some go down like instantly, others stagger away. All have NO IDEA they are in the gun-sights. They never knew what hit them.

My first thought when I saw it was these guys have the capability of setting up, filming, shooting, and then escaping. WTF!?!

This was spooky because even with all their training, body armor and the most sophisticated military weaponry, these sniper tactics overcome it all.

This is ugly.

I'm sure I heard on a TV news program not too long ago the Pentagon likes to refer to US military snipers now as "sharpshooters" to avoid the negative connotations attached to the word "sniper."
