Maryland repuke:Stem cell studies simliar to Nazi research and slavery
http://www.nbc6.net/politics/6909730/detail.html

Lt. Gov. Michael Steele apologized Friday for comparing embryonic stem cell research to Nazi medical experiments, saying, "in no way did I intend to equate the two."

Steele had made the remark to the Baltimore Jewish Council on Thursday after speaking about a recent trip to Israel. One of the 40 audience members had asked for his thoughts on stem cell research.

"You, of all folks, know what happens when people decide to experiment on human beings, when they want to take your life and use it as a tool," Steele said. "I know that as well in my community, out of our experience with slavery, and so I'm very cautious when people say this is the best new thing, this is going to save lives."

(snip)

Steele also apologized in a statement, noting he had just finished speaking about his "powerful memories" of visiting a Holocaust museum in Israel. "Those memories have had a lasting impression on me, but in no way did I intend to equate the two or trivialize the pain and suffering of more than six million Jews," the statement read.

1. Ignorance and Bushlicking know no color.
Think Steele is bad? Check out Kenneth Blackwell in Ohio. Horrific GOP Bushbots.

2. Those cells are kept hostage in Petri dishes
And forced to undergo mitosis against their will.

Where's the outrage?

4. LOL
and I mean that literally. Where's the outrage, you ask? Where else, but over in freeperville. They had a typically off the wall response to this: It's WORSE than Dr. Mengele's experiments because so many little "human beings" are destroyed. How do you even begin to plumb that mentality?

5. You know, there used to be a moral code
Insult in private, apologize in public.

(I forget where & when I first heard that).

Of course, with Repukes, it's the other way around.

Smear on front page with 48 point headlines . . . issue a retraction on page 103 in 2-point type . . .

6. Sounds like he's taking a cue from the fundies
Didn't Dobson say something similar to this about stem cell research & Nazi experiments. I bet the fundies in Maryland must love this asshole.
