what can I do to remove tyranny from my government today? |
|
and what can you do? i'm asking because, like you, i sometimes have no idea what i can actually do to actually remove these assholes from my sight.
i don't write my congressmen, shame on me, i don't see the point, and there are so many writing their congressmen that i don't think my crazy voice would be noticed.
i've voted, but that seems like a useless endeavor too, considering the last two elections.
i don't donate to any liberal causes, i can't.
i can't go to marches and demonstrations.
just what the hell can you and i do to end this total insanity before it's way too late?
i need to know, cause now's the time.

2. You forgot an angry letter to a newspaper |

That one always works.
Storm the bastille? No, they'll probably shoot you before you got one foot in the city.
Get enough money so that you can influence national policy? Might be your best shot.
Or you can sit back and enjoy the human freak show for what it is. At least it's easier to laugh.

It's NOT about whether (you think) it'll 'work' or not - it's about whether it's the "right thing" to do. Congresscritter an outright fascist? Write anyway. Don't think your vote is counted? Vote anyway - absentee, if you can.
As human beings with heart, we're far better at choosing to do the "right thing" than predicting the future. Doing the "right thing" is our job; the future is God's job. When we're deluded into taking on the latter job, we're less able to to our own job.
"Act only according to that maxim by which you can at the same time will that it would become a universal law." - Immanuel Kant
"Act in such a way that you always treat humanity, whether in your own person or in the person of any other, never simply as a means, but always at the same time as an end." - Immanuel Kant
"So act as though you were through your maxims a law-making member of a kingdom of ends." - Immanuel Kant

Get on an email list that send letters to the congress with the click of a mouse.
Take the kids with you to a demonstration.
Skip the double lattes for a week and send a check to a good cause.
WE as a populas have sat on our hands for to long, pretty soon there won't be anyting to fight for or with.
