Petition for Jill Carroll's Safe Release is growing!!!

On January 7th of this year, 28 year-old freelance reporter Jill Carroll was abducted in Baghdad, Iraq. Since this time Carroll has appeared twice on video pleading for the America government to fulfill the demands of her captures, to release all female Iraqi prisoners. The American government’s strict no-negotiation policy leaves Ms. Carroll fate in a precarious situation. On February 10th Ms Carroll’s holders set a deadline of February 26th to have their demands met or they will take Ms Carroll’s life. The people of the world must band together and petition for the safe release of Jill Carroll. Please sign this petition, respectfully asking for the safe release of Jill Carroll, in hopes that her holders will feel they have accomplished enough by gaining the attention and concern of the world.

that this would have any influence whatsoever. It seems painfully naive to think the bastards who have her would pay any attention to it. Many influential people in the Islamic world have been pleading for her release for weeks.

substantial amount of signatures before I try. We are trying to get many college organizations home and aboard involved as well.

And it doesn't even have to be the Iraqis who kill her. For her to wind up dead and mutilated - even by our own troops - would send a clear message to journalists. Namely, don't venture out of the green zone and report everything we tell you to report, or else. It would also help cement the image of the enemy as people who rape and kill women, helping to bolster the war.

Face it. Ms. Carroll alive means nothing. Ms. Carroll dead is very useful to the Administration.
