1. Good news? No, GREAT NEWS. This means that the young people,
those that have the most to lose are getting into the battle. This is the best news that I've seen all day. Maybe all week.

9. Ah I loved patchouli
But it is kind of rank to my nostrils today. As I remember, didn't we use it to mask the smell of reefer on our clothes? That isn't a problem for me anymore. LOL

Now we smell the error our ways.
That, and all the wannabe hippies born in the eighties that wear the stuff piss me off.
I'm kina cranky today.

You need cheering up. Let's see. How about more memories? My buddy the custodian at school and I were telling one of the 20 somethings there about Volker Park in the 60s yesterday. He said he went there to pick up white girls. The 20 something looked at me and I said 'not me!'.

That's when people smelled money and the trendoid restaurants and bars started opening. Up to then it was head shops, coffee houses and quirky little businesses.

After Caper's Corner closed, it was Pennylane or nothing for new releases. Of course, they still pressed vinyl, too. Remember LeRoi's(tm) Record Reviews in the Penny Pitch? It evolved into the KC Pitch we have today.

You used to be able to go upstairs and lay on waterbeds and smoke pot. First waterbed I was ever on was there in about 1970. Anyway, kids sold dope in that upstairs room too. I don't know if the management was aware of this or not.

65. I love using a few drops of patchouli essential oil
in the bath.

Usually I'm a shower kind of person (aren't we all, everybody's so busy), but I had a horseback riding accident early in the week and there are few places on my body that don't hurt badly. I had a long soak yesterday and added patchouli - not because it helped with the aches and pains on my body, but because of the effect it had on my mind. The smell just makes me happy. I love the stuff.

68. That's a useful tip for me, thank you.
I had a pretty severe horseback riding accident on Wednesday last week. My mount spooked at something, did a complete 180 and took off at a gallop. It felt like he went 0-60 mph in about 3 seconds - I lost the reins at the suddenness of it all, came flying off and landed on some big rocks. I've got some spectacular bruising, cracked ribs and a hairline fracture of my pelvis. I'll have to try the oil combination you recommend, because there's not much on my body that doesn't hurt right now!

7. Students for Democratic Society
One of the larger (if not the largest) student political groups from the 6os.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Students_for_a_Democratic_Society
The Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) was a student activist movement in the United States founded in 1959. As part of the New Left movement in the United States, the organization developed rapidly in the mid-1960's, before dissolving in 1969.
