They're building "dentention" camps. Their minions in the "liberal media" are openly advocating the internment and/or extermination of their political opponents (us). They are committing hate crimes against gays. Just last night I read that one anti-gay "Christian" group in America actually stated "the extermination option may be our only choice."

They truly believe that only people who worship and adore Bush are fit to live. Their ideal America consists of only white straight Republicans.

9. I don't think the comparison is "ripe" yet but

we should never forget that things can be similar without being identical. That patterns can overlap without being exactly the same. That history repeats without being an identical clone because changes of technology and understanding allow a different presentation of old material.

The Nazi party of 1940 and the Neocon party of 2000 will have many differences. Just like any two organizations. The finesse of PR has changed. The power of the media has changed. The basic education of the masses has changed. The ability to move and communicate has changed. But the underlying goal of the EMPIRE movement and the willingness to abandon or destroy individual rights for the mad vision of a few powermongers using propaganda, fear, and hatred is very very much the same. Heck half the philosophical inspiration is still the same...identical in many instances.

And many of the results will be very similar. Bushco doesn't use jews because they don't need the jews. They have Islamic Terraists and Libruls. The name doesn't matter. Having an enemy to point at does.

They don't need to openly use the Gestapo because they can pacify us in so many other ways...

And even Orwell knew during WW2 that sometimes you allow dessent in places in order to let people blow off steam or have the illusion of freedom that actually keeps them enslaved. So we should never get too comfortable just because we're able to bitch and moan here...or just because some of the more spectacular events of 1940 aren't openly happening HERE today on Fox news.

we have to remember the "enemy", be it jew, muslim, liberal, whatever...isn't about THEM...it's about creating a focus for the masses. It's about creating a distraction so you can consolidate power and galvanize public opinion. They are a prop being used in a play that is shown every century. For some that evolved into concentration camps...but CCs didn't define the Nazi party or its aim. They were just the horrid, twisted, evil beyond belief evolution of their propaganda techniques and economic aims of the time spun out with a bit of personal psychosis. The modern Nazi/Fascist/Whatever label you want to use of the 21st century will evolve differently because the new emperor will have different chips on his shoulder...it's attrocities will have a lot of cosmetic differences. But they are still going to be horrid and evil and bent on empire.
