Is this the lady being held hostage ? In exchange for the muslim wives taken by our gov't to put pressure on their suspected terrorist husbands?

Just wonderin', cause I'm not sure who to feel sorry for, or if Ms Carroll may be part of some little plot :shrug:

I mean, her death sentence is dragging on way too long ?

2. That is not a viable theory, to put it mildly

Ms. Carroll has, despite her relative youth, been one of the most ETHICAL journalists covering the scene over that way--her reporting is accurate and evenhanded, and her writing is crisp, precise and fact-based.

To suggest that she has "gone native" and dumped her ethics for a cause is a bit insulting to her professionalism as a journalist. I won't go beyond that, but that suggestion is way off the mark.

5. The reporting on this is unclear at best

The group holding her alledgedly says that the detention of Muslim women is at the heart of her kidnapping; but it has also been postulated that that is simply a canard, and the group simply wants a big pile of cash. Hostage taking for money is not an unknown practice in those parts. If you can make the situation appear to be more dire than a demand for some dough, the payday can be greatly enhanced.

...just wondering what our MSM/NSA is editing out Ms. Carroll's videos? I never thought it was about money, just the Iraqi women, the wives taken and imprisoned to make their husband's talk. Not that I approve of that, mind you :)

7. Our media isn't even covering this story -- they throw up a clip of the

tape and that's that. A quick two sentence mention, and it's on to the OLYMPICS!!! Oh, and fifteen kids died in Iraq and Afghanistan this week...and didja HEAR MICHELLE KWAN dropped OUT!!!

If you want to see the full versions, you have to get the Arab channel, or find a friend who can get Al Arabiya or Al Jazeerah on their tube. They don't WANT to cover this story, they'd rather explain why they were too frightened to show the Danish cartoons....and then talk on about NATALEE!
