Christian Reconstructionism=Treason
Edited on Sat Feb-11-06 06:02 PM by happydreams
So the Bush fascists want to charge those who dissent with sedition. Well how about opening up another House Un-American activities Committee and this time start rounding up Christian Reconstructionists who very definitely want to establish a theocracy in the US. THAT is sedition.

Some time ago a Repug (forgot who) said that they are making reality. If they can do it why can't we. Let's open up another front in this war to save the planet from oblivion.

I'd like to see fighters like Conyers heading an inquiry.... : "Are you now or have you ever been a member, or sympathetic to the teachings of Rushdoony and the Christian Reconstruction movement." Hee, hee.

It's worthy to note that the first House Un-American activities committee was actually started by FDR in the 1930's to root out seditionists of any kind.

Here is more on CR and Rushloony.

R.J. Rushdoony is a former member of the Rutherford Institute Board of Directors. Those are the delightful folks who helped finance Paula Jones's legal defense.

Now he's the head of the Chalcedon Institute, a California-based religious think tank that argues that every Bible passage must be taken literally.

R.J. is considered the spiritual father of Christian Reconstructionism, which promotes the idea of rebuilding society in accordance with biblical law.

He has called for restoration of the Old Testament law that would require we stone to death all adulterers, atheists, gays, and even bratty children.

And what about folks who misbehave, but not enough to merit a death sentence? Oh, they would become a member of a new slave class. Isn't that clever?

R.J.'s no fan of democracy. He said it's "the great love of the cowards and failures of life."

Any crazy son-of-a-bitch that follows these idiots is a traitor to democracy IMHO.

2. Odd how they only want the OLD testament to be used literally
cuz there is a lot of stuff in the New Testament they seem to be overlooking.

3. and don't forget Howard Ahmanson...

the wealthy banker who has funded the Chalcedon Institute AND may be behind the strategy (at least the funding) of Diebold and ESS, as far as destroying our democracy. Worse than sedition, even.

5. Yep, he and Rushdoony. This also explains the "Old Testament"
fixation: It allows Jews to join in.
