Evangelist Ham mass brainwashes children to reject science
Edited on Sun Feb-12-06 12:33 AM by BurtWorm

Evangelist Ken Ham smiled at the 2,300 elementary students packed into pews, their faces rapt. With dinosaur puppets and silly cartoons, he was training them to reject much of geology, paleontology and evolutionary biology as a sinister tangle of lies.

"Boys and girls," Ham said. If a teacher so much as mentions evolution, or the Big Bang, or an era when dinosaurs ruled the Earth, "you put your hand up and you say, 'Excuse me, were you there?' Can you remember that?"

The children roared their assent.

"Sometimes people will answer, 'No, but you weren't there either,' " Ham told them. "Then you say, 'No, I wasn't, but I know someone who was, and I have his book about the history of the world.' " He waved his Bible in the air....

...and it just gets worse...

3. Because hearsay is SO reliable.
Not to mention that said people lived 2000 years ago, and such an account went through god knows what sort of editing/translation errors.

These folks are religiously insane, no doubt about it.

4. Believing in God is one thing.
But when you can't even understand the basic tenets of evolution (like this moron), you have no room to dispute it.

9. Wow...Flintstones science.
He pointed out cave drawings of a creature resembling a brachiosaur to make the case that man lived alongside dinosaurs after God created all the land animals on Day 6.

Un-fucking-believable.

15. What a big a**hole! From the article:
"In a bit that brought the house down, Ham flashed a picture of a chimpanzee. "Did your grandfather look like this?" he demanded.

"Noooooo!" the children called.

"And did your grandmother look like that?" Ham displayed a photo of the same chimp wearing lipstick. The children erupted in giggles. "Noooooo!"

:grr:

18. Don't forget to visit the new Museum of Creation
Museum of Creation: In the beginning . . . Adam walked with dinosaurs

The museum, which has cost a mighty $25 million (£13 million) will be the world's first significant natural history collection devoted to creationist theory. It has been set up byKen Ham, an Australian evangelist, who runs Answers in Genesis, one of America's most prominent creationist organisations.

He said that his aim was to use tourism, and the theme park's striking exhibits, to convert more people to the view that the world and its creatures, including dinosaurs, were created by God 6,000 years ago.

*****************

More controversial exhibits deal with diseases and famine, which are portrayed not as random disasters, but as the result of mankind's sin. Mr Ham's Answers in Genesis movement blames the 1999 massacre at Columbine High School in Colorado, in which two teenagers killed 12 classmates and a teacher before killing themselves, on evolutionist teaching, claiming that the perpetrators believed in Darwin's survival of the fittest.

Other exhibits in the museum will blame homosexuals for Aids. In a "Bible Authority Room" visitors are warned: "Everyone who rejects his history – including six-day creation and Noah's flood – is `wilfully' ignorant.''

21. Nice to see our young American students
being properly prepared to compete scholastically when they become young adults in the world arena of the future with their Chinese & European counterparts. I'm sure college admissions counselors as well as employers everywhere will welcome these well-rounded & well-educated young adults with open arms.

22. The Bible is not a history or science text
And does not belong in either type of class as such.

"Boys and girls," Ham said. If a teacher so much as mentions evolution, or the Big Bang, or an era when dinosaurs ruled the Earth, "you put your hand up and you say, 'Excuse me, were you there?' Can you remember that?"

Well no I wasn't, but scientists have discovered and analyzed vast amounts of empirical evidence to support evolution and the existence of dinosaurs, which is much more than you can say for what is found in your Bible. (And referring to your Bible as evidence of what is said in your Bible doesn't work--that's circular reasoning.)

23. The earth is flat and the sun revolves around the earth
The sky is made of crystal spheres and the universe is perfect. Sunspots don't exists and if you see them, they're just asterioid like objects. Dinosaurs are the creation of the devil and carbon dating is trickery and witchcraft.
