1. Huh??? Where are you getting this ONE congressperson?
None of the news items on television or in the newspapers are reporting only ONE congressperson, they are saying it is VERY BIG trouble for the republicans, plural.

bigger safe put in. The old safe wasn't big enough to hold all the pardons he would be needing.

I'm not holding my breath that they all will come to justice. I think a few of the lowly ones will eat it big for some of the bigger fish.

4. I reckon the reasoning is,
Get one, and get him to testify, and so on and so forth. That would be my guess.

Of course thats normal here in the land of the free :sarcasm: Steal a loaf of bread get 5yrs, try and steal the country get a free pass, or a slap on the wrist.:grr:

6. This new MSNBC article says he will testify against several in Congress
Their are several widespread corruption probes involving the SunCruz ship, Indian gaming plus foreign influence peddling. He is apparently going to testify against several politicians.

10. I think the link is...
for cantstandbush's one congressperson is CNN:

Prosecutors also detailed a "stream of things of value" given to an unnamed congressman, identified in the court documents as Representative No. 1.

The items listed include a "lavish" trip to Scotland to play golf, tickets to sporting events and campaign contributions to the representative and his political action committee in exchange for a series of actions by that representative.

The Justice Department would not identify the congressman. But government sources have said he is Republican Rep. Bob Ney of Ohio, chairman of the House Administration Committee.

11. Ahhh, well, no worry then, if one looks at Patrick Fitzgerald's
case history as an example. They start with one and work down, or up as the case may be, the line. Check out his prosecutions re Conrad Black and others. There are many more than one going down in this prosecution as well I am sure.

13. That doesn't say only one congressman at all
It merely points out one "unnamed congressman." It doesn't even imply that this unnamed congressman was the only one, just that this congressman's alleged crimes are particulary egregious.

12. Ya gotta link for that?
The NYT says today that the prosecution has their hooks in a dozen. Perhaps you are mistaken.
