3. I'm frankly surprised it hasn't happened already
It is a big jump from setting a bomb in the basement of the WTC to flying a jet liner into it, and the people who made that jump were all from outside the US proper. Unfortunately, there is little reason to suspect that no one has entered the country since then who has not made that jump in their minds already. Probably came in from Mexico. Everyone else does.

In 2001, after the towers went down, I had to visit Minnesota for a wedding. WHile there my wife and I stopped by the Mall of the Americas to see the QVC setup there (she's addicted). I wasn't there ten minutes before I was in a cold sweat. I'm told the security there is hundreds of times more solid now but that is only one site in a country of almost three hundred million.

I'd like to think that increased public security has forestalled any such atrocity but considering how inept and foolish the Bushoids have turned out to be (remember Osama bin Forgotten?) I suspect it is simply dumb luck that we haven't had to endure the horror of a successful attack on a domestic soft target since 9/11.

It seems to me it just has to be simply a matter of time until some fanatic steps up to the plate and swings away, and I really don't think the clowns in Homeland Security have a chance of stopping it, even with the NSA's illegal and unconstitutional spying on US citizens.

4. Maybe we can find them some clinic bombers and doctor shooters
that they can square off against, and leave the rest of us out of their fanatical hallucinations.

The Americans are Sowing Dragons' Teeth in Iraq
For every Iraqi killed, there are sisters, brothers, wives, parents and children now committed to a blood feud
by Chris Bellamy

~snip~

But this approach could be counter-productive. For every Iraqi killed, either in Fallujah or overall, there are five, maybe 10, maybe 20 sisters, brothers, husbands, wives, parents, children. For every dead Iraqi there may be 20 people who are now committed to a blood feud.

some links mentioning iraqi tribal justice and blood feuds..

7. I think so. They'll just buy a plane ticket and go wherever. It really is
is worrisome. So many people are becoming complacent because of so many cries of "wolf"

9. There's Terrorism In The U.S. Every Day
Try taking a ride into the centers of most cities these days at night. Murder rates are starting to rise as un and under-employment are starting to rise as the economy in these areas get worse and a bad situation gets worse. People are living in fear in all parts of this country right now and it's now induced by some guy with a turban, but with men in suits with flag lapels with (R)'s next to their name. Those are the real terrorists today.

10. A guy drove his SUV
through the window of a car dealership down in Miami last week. He then calmly got out of the vehicle with a can of fuel, doused the SUV and other vehicles and set fire to the whole place. One car that got destroyed was worth $150,000. Fortunately, no humans got hurt despite the fact that the place was very busy when this happened.

Since he was American and white he was not considered a terrorist and apparently the judge didn't think he was much of a threat because he was released the same day on a $15,000 bond.

Four days later the same man gets on a plane from DC to LA and hung himself in the bathroom. Good thing he didn't want to go out with a blast.

11. Maybe not because of the cartoon
but I wouldn't go out for pizza when/if we attack Iran. Attacking Iran will be the final straw and the Muslim world will know its a war against them because they had the bad luck to populate the oil fields. Every sleeper cell in America will awaken and make for us hell on earth.

Do you think there aren't people who have died due to domestic terrorism in this country?

Homeless people are being beaten and killed on our streets, gay folks have been attacked by a hatchet wielding Nazi-lover in Boston, 10 churches have been burned burned in Alabama... and those are just examples of the most recent "terrorist" attacks on American citizens. Y'know, terrorists don't only come in a shade of brown nor follow Islam. As for myself, I'm much more worried about the the terrorists we're cultivating in cities and towns all over this country.
