... has forgotten a great deal in the intervening years. Moreover, Poppy isn't intrinsically better because his son is immeasurably worse.

... boyfriend was the repug twit....
On edit, oops, thought that reply was for TexasProgressive.
But, the point is that Trudeau, not Mark, is offering to upgrade Poppy's status in popular history. The elder Bush, if anything, was a pretty devious and disgusting person and still is. He was just marginally better at hiding it from the public than his son.
And, Mallard Fillmore is a real cheap shot, you know that, don't you? :)

... measurably more difficult for the elder Bush. Some of the news that came out too slowly to have an impact would have moved a lot more rapidly and might have changed things a bit. I wonder what might have happened to Bush if many of the things described in John MacArthur's book, Second Front were common knowledge at the time they occurred.

I wonder how many people have ever heard of him or his dealings with the Bush crime family.

I think you're forgetting that and what Trudeau is doing is showing a republican turning against BabyBush. Trudeau's genius is that he doesn't toe (tow) any party line which allows us to laugh at our selves. So lighten up punpirate before you sound like Mallard Filmore.
