Bush knew (heavy with photos, dial up warning)
Bush knew, then pretended he didn't know

Bush knew there were no WMD, then pretended he didn't know

Bush knew the levees would break, then pretended he didn't know

Bush knew Plame was outed by his cabal, then pretended he didn't know

Bush knew Abramoff, then pretended he didn't know

Bush knew spying on Americans is illegal, then pretended he didn't know.

Bush knows corruption, then pretends he doesn't know

(idea came from a diary on Dkos here:

1. Yes, I believe that he did know
You might also add election fraud, I remember seeing a picture of him voting in
Texas in 2004 with Laura Bush, when they were leaving the voting area, she had tears
running down her face. I thought it was strange at the time. Now I know.

4. It chilled me to the bone.
And all his talk running up to the election about reaching out to Democrats, that was
to make the story about Republicans wins in heavy democratic areas plausible. Yes,
he knew.

7. The only picture I can find is this one
that we all suspect has something to do with the disconnect with the vote and the polls.

Bush knew Kerry would beat him in the polls, then pretended he didn't know.

I have read somewhere that Blackwell had access to the tabulators in his Ohio office, so to what exactly did Rove have access?

When you have trillions of dollars, unlimited power, and kingdom of the world at stake, Rove was not about to just let it go.

11. here's a quote from Salon article
It seems to me that early on Bush and Rove decided on a one-word strategy to govern and for reelection in 2004. That one-word strategy was 'bribery,'" said Viguerie, whose next book, provisionally titled "The Betrayal of Conservatives," is due out this summer. "You got the votes, we got the money. Let's talk."

8. Add 2000 to that too. He knew that his brother had the election rigged
for him there as well. :nuke:

I remember watching him with Jeb on election night and Florida was called for Gore. A few things were said by the two of them (I wish I could remember the exact conversation but I remember the look on both Bush's faces and Jeb muttering something like "I'll take care of it"). When we heard and saw that exchange my husband and I looked at each other and I said "My god! That SOB cheated!" and my husband just shook his head and agreed. A minute later I got a call from my daughter who had seen and heard the same thing and was furious... that was when we all knew without question that BUSH KNEW that Florida was "his" even if it wasn't. :grr:

15. It's not documented yet? I would have thought others would have noticed
and remember it as well. The 3 of us were livid but felt so helpless to do anything. It's one of the main reasons I was so pleased to find DU.. it's empowering.

16. you have to understand the power of the blogs
I am up here in Maryland, I do not have cable, we have what is known as total news which
means that it is local, local, local with brief cut ins to National Feeds, once the hoopla
of the actual election night is over, there is little coverage except for the 30 minute
National news spot. I was unaware until lately of the televised Team Bush Florida
2000 follies. I had seen a little in Michael Moore's movie but nothing like what you
describe and the scene of the whole family appearing saying we won, I never saw that
up here at all.

17. Blogs are amazing I agree. It wasn't the whole Bush family saying we won..
it was on satellite news, not sure if Fox, CNN, or which... my husband and I were watching the election news as the results came in since we both felt stronger about this election then we had in a long time... quite frankly Bush and his neo-con agenda was everything we disagree with. As we were watching the news the news went to show Bush as he and his brother were watching the results come in... Bush was given the news that a news station had called Florida for Gore... he looked pissed and looked at his brother whogot up quickly muttered something along the lines of "I'll take care of it", GWB looked mollified and that's when the exchange between my husband and I took place... I knew that the election, at least there in Florida was as fixed as it could be and we both wondered if it was umm.. "tweaked" a bit elsewhere. From what we heard and saw we felt and still do that Jeb Bush had a hand in the wild mess. When we saw that same basic scene rerun later it had been glossed over.

I wish I could remember which news station it was... it's hard to believe that we're the only ones that caught and recall that little snit scene but then again it's been over 5 yrs and probably is a mere blip to most and certainly in comparison to all this man has done in the years since.

5. Well said & done - Sometimes a picture truly is worth a thousand words.
BTW - Although I appreciate the heads up it because you kept the pic's size down it was actually a rather quick load time for this pokey (approx 26k) dial-up user. Thanks B-)

19. what's in the friggin vial, powell?
Sugar? Salt? Meth?

I still want to know, cuz they sure as hell didn't let you into the UN with a bottle of anthrax. And it went so well with your powerpoint of DRAWN DIAGRAMS of a weapons manufacturing facility.

It's a great photo... a fake holding a fake.

Whatever legacy you thought you had, Powell, is GONE.

PS. You can take off the black paint now.
