OMG, Lynn Swann Is As Stupid And Uninformed
as any politician I've ever seen. Ever. Stephanopolis just asked him if the Supreme CT overturned Roe and he were Governor, would he support banning abortion in PA. Swann responded by looking blankly at George and stating that if the SC overturned Roe, it would be illegal in PA. George corrected him and informed him that no, it would go back to the states. His responses to other questions were equally pathetic.

9. That's because they cultivate them
and the stupider they are, the better the GOP likes it. They're the party of big money, using the pious and the greedy to their own enrichment. Stupid men like Swann are easy to manipulate. I'm sure even the stupidest of them is grateful for the cadre of "advisors" supplied to him by the bosses in the state.

The last thing the pubbies want is a guy in office who has an inkling of the law or a real desire to run the show himself. They want dumb front men.

2. He was good at catching footballs!
That certainly doesn't qualify him to be a Governor (or even a dogcatcher, for that matter) I grow increasingly tired of the endless stream of celebrity nominees for elective office, who have absolutely no qualifications other than their name power. At least the dimwit is a republiCON.

24. with a caveat..
REALLY SMART ex-jocks or REALLY SMART bad actors are OK.
But they have to be REALLY REALLY smart... (and much too busy doing really smart things to have a beer with)

28. Evidently he can't catch the "softballs" pundits lob at him, though.
Edited on Sun Feb-12-06 10:23 AM by BiggJawn
Bethca the people who voted for him would like to "sit down and have a beer" with him, too.

See what you get when you select your politicians like they were on "Murkan Eye-DULL", folks? :7

3. And you're surprised why???
Swann is the kind of minority candidate that the Republicans love, one who has no concept of what's really going on, and as long as they tow the Repub/Nazi mantra they'll get the support.

Besides, this just shows that Swann got hit a few times too many while playing football!!!

6. Silly me.
I guess I was surprised. It seems amazing to me that someone could be running for Governor, and not know what overturning Roe means.

Pa. invades western Md. looking for bears of mass destruction?
He sells the Pa area on lake Erie to Ohio for development?

The best thing the dems can do is let Lynn talk ..... he knows football

5. He doesn't need to be smart - just elected
He wants to be another Arh-nuld - someone who puts 'stars-in-your-eyes" into the voters of the state that think it would be soooooo cooooool to have a celebrity as their governor. Lynn will be given a list of names to select for his state cabinet who will do the job for him.

Pennsylvanians won't fall for this crap!

11. Touch screen voting is coming and PA bans a voter verified paper ballot...
The Republicans control the PA legislature and they are blocking laws that allow a voter verified paper ballot.

BTW: I was just going to post this:

If a space ship landed and said "Take me to your leader", they would take them to Bush who would have to say: "Wait here. I know a guy who knows who they are..."

13. after the show
he was whisked away in a black limo, brought to an undisclosed hidden location where over the next few weeks he will undergo intense tutoring to memorize the party spin and sound bites

upon completely the Rove School of Politics, Swann will have been re-invented, re-packaged and have his picture taken with the president doing such things as tossing a football followed by looking seriously into the camera and saying something monumentous...

19. I hear you guys are really being hammered.
This storm is bigger than anything I've seen here this year, and we regularly get storms of 2 feet plus.
Nothing here (Northern Vermont). Hope you're comfortably hunkered down and that your power doesn't go.

yet he is FOR it if it passes nationally.

Even here in Florida - we raised it above the pitiful amount it is nationally.

33. Swann was on Dan Patrick's ESPN Radio show recently with Olbermann
and Dan let Keith take over asking him political questions. Keith asked him about a controversial local environmental issue and what his position was on it, and Swann was like "Uh...what?!?!?"

Maybe KEITH should run. He appears to know more about Pennsylvania politics than Swann does, and he lives in New York City!

with Rendell.

What is wrong with people? Let's let OJ walk after committing double homicide because he's a football hero. Let's elect a dumb jock governor of PA cuz he's a football hero.

What's next ... Senator Terry Bradshaw? Ambassador Terrell Owens?
