I don't accept Harman/Daschle's excuse (re. MTP)
They are basically saying that they were only briefed on the OPERATIONAL aspects of the wiretapping, not the legal basis. They also say they could not talk with constitutional law experts, etc.

So, why could they not read the FISA law themselves? What the fuck do we pay them for?

Why could they not demand a legal briefing?

I'm as upset with the Dems on this as I was with the IWR.

Spineless fucking sissies.

2. I think even threatening to go public would have been illegal.
But there were other legal steps they could have taken.

Instead, they just rolled over. Again.

Other than Sen. Rockefeller's letter to Cheney, the spineless Dems did nothing.

Disgusting.

3. Can you imagine how * would look like if he started putting
congress people in jail because they go out and tell the people what's wrong? That would make a big impression on the public. A lot more than these spineless Democrats today.

7. Daschle/Harman have basically torpedoed Dem criticism.
Edited on Sun Feb-12-06 11:40 AM by speedoo
They will now be quoted everywhere as the Dems who were briefed as saying * is doing just fine. It's not exactly true, but they have given the rethugs all the talking points they need to say the Dems who were briefed had no objection.

Just fucking dandy. A major 2006 election issue is toast, just lke they allowed the IWR issue to go away.

I am so fucking pissed.

12. Yep. After thinking about this. Maybe it's not so bad taht Daschle was
fired. He was an enabler, and therefore associate of the the Bush Crime Family.
