Let's apply the Worst Case Scenario to all our issues...please help me out

ELECTION REFORM:
What if THEY are right and WE are wrong…We spend a few million extra dollars we did not need to.
What if WE are right and THEY are wrong…Our VERY democracy is in danger of disappearing completely and taken over by the people who control the counting of the votes.
SPYING:
What if THEY are right and WE are wrong…We have an investigation that proves nothing and done correctly hurts nothing..a couple million spent needlessly.
What if WE are right and THEY are wrong… We learn that the President is spying on anyone anytime for any reason including people who are simply political opponents.
IRAQ WAR - PULLOUT
What if THEY are right and WE are wrong…We have blow back here in America and some terrorists find their way here and do the WORST thing they have scared us with.
What if WE are right and THEY are wrong…Our Military is broken to the point that we lose more and more of our soldiers in Iraq until ultimately we pull out with a broken military and there is blow back and some terrorists find their way here and do the WORST thing they have scared us with AND we have NO MILITARY with which to fight back.

Please help me out here…there are SO many issues that this can be applied to and I do believe WE are correct to push these issues even if WE are wrong!

1. Intelligent way of looking at things.

Particularly in terms of election reform -- we either lose a little bit of money, or we lose EVERYTHING.

2. If they are right and we are wrong...

and they continue on the path they are on today...none of your mentioned concerns will matter for much longer....because the world will be in such a state of irreversible war and irreversible destruction that just will not matter if elections are fair, if rights are abused by spying or if we have soldiers in iraq or anywhere..are concerns will be of another nature..to just survive for another day or another year.

3. I think that would make them wrong if the outcome is daily survival

if would mean we were right and they took over any...

Course we do know they are so wrong that wrong doesn't even begin to cover it! the worse case scenario though, being that their continued path may put us in a situation where by..daily survival may become a higher priority than political right or wrong...which is exactly where we may be heading.
