Whittington was probably admitted to the ER and his paperwork wasn't completed until 8:30. Having spent way too many days in ERs, ICUs and ECUs, I could see Whittington being in the ER room for several hours while being attended to and not being "officially" admitted...and then, once he's assigned a room (and it's decided if he's to stay or to "go"), then he was admitted. I wouldn't read that much into the timing.

past year with a family member. Each time we go the the Emergency Room the admitting paperwork is done right away and time stamped. The doctor should have said he was admitted to a room at 8:30 if that was the case not admitted to the hospital, big difference.

|
I'm sorry to hear about your situation...and that it's not a regular occurance. I grew up around hospitals...my father was a physician...and ended up doing a lot of his paperwork in his final years. Different hosptials have different rules and how they treat these type of cases. I'm conjecturing that since this man probably wasn't from the area that the hospital wasn't sure once he was treated if he would be staying or transported to another facility...or this was not the first facility that treated him. Too few details.
The fact this creates a new distratcion may not be a bad thing right now...keeps Crashcart in the spotlight, and he really doesn't like being scrutinitized...only he does the scrunitizing.

|
Cheney if the guy died. He is untouchable, as they all are. Remember, he cannot be indicted, even for murder. And Congress would NEVER impeach for that, they would just say "It was an unfortunate accident, and now leave poor Dickie alone!" And furthermore, Bush would pardon him in advance if there were a prosecutor waiting for Cheney to leave office to indict him.
Untouchable.

32. 30 yards is well within the bird-killing range of a shotgun |
|
loaded with, say, #6 shot. It would probably be fairly hard to kill a person at this range, but you can do a lot of damage. Depending on the choke, the spread of the shot will be about 18 (full choke) to 35 (open choke) inches, so a relatively large percentage of the pellets in the load would hit a person-sized target at that range, and each of those pellets would be capable of penetrating a way and would likely require surgical removal. There are about 250 pellets in a standard 1.125 oz. load of #6 shot in a 12 ga. shotgun.

or #7 1/2 shot that is birdshot. Buckshot is for bucks hence the name buckshot. At 30 yrds. birdshot would be painful but not lethal.
