How in hell did he hit a person who was 30 yards away? What kind of birds fly along at 6 feet off the ground? I would have thought that he would have been aiming higher.

15. They always are, when he hunts--they flush 'em, and he blasts away
He clearly is a LOUSY hunter, though. He favors closed preserves, with fat, tamed birds, and the dumb fool didn't look where he was shooting. He just started following his target and blasted away.

Extremely unprofessional conduct. He's an amateur, and a bad one at that.

3. Quail roost on the ground....
Edited on Sun Feb-12-06 05:15 PM by jus_the_facts
:hi:

They tend to prefer areas that are open at ground level where they can use their running abilities. When flushed, they often fly a short distance, glide to the ground, and continue to run for some distance before they hide in whatever cover is available. Their running makes them difficult to hunt, for once a covey is located, they often disappear into the landscape, leaving a frustrated hunter.

Scaled quail are like other quail, monogamous ground-nesting birds with the sexes similar in color.

he might not be able to aim the heavy barrel of the gun that high so he just takes shots in random directions in an attempt to hit something.

Can you imagine?

:hi: agent Mike. I'm just kidding.... certainly not suggesting it would be a good thing for Elmer Fudd Cheney and Commander Bunnypants to go hunting together.

16. This is Somewhat Easy to Do
I don't mean to defend deadeye dick on this, but I have quail hunted and it is very important to keep track of others in your hunting party. I have hunted with people before and decided not to hunt any longer with them because they were not safe. They didn't get the importance of keeping track of others and were often so overly excited after the flush that they did not think before shooting. Often, dogs get shot instead of people. Just an FYI.

After all, I'm sure the SS was out there very early, painting "COW" on every cow, "TREE" on every tree, and "DEMOCRAT" on every bird. DICK was just protecting us all. God Bless Murka! :patriot:

22. Well the "quail" were actually domesticated turkeys
drugged of course. Cheney got so bored after shooting 47 of them, that he made the toadies in his hunting party play "The Most Dangerous Game" to liven things up.

25. My father the hunter safety instructor sez:
Birds don't fly behind you - they fly away from you (why did he do a 180?).

They would have had dogs to retrieve the downed birds; weird that Cheney's 'target' had gone off to retrieve a bird.

They used shotguns, probably with #8 shot - at close range, would do damage.

ALWAYS know where other members of your hunting party are before shooting.

Cheney is an idiot.

26. It's BushCo's stunt to retire Cheney.
So Cheney can be the scapegoat for all the scandals coming up and Cheney can be a 'private citizen' to upcoming investigations, so they can impede, stonewall, and hinder every step of the way.
