Jimmy Carter's newest book |
|
I'm about half-way through it. Carter's writing style does not exactly sparkle. But he makes some excellent points. The gun-owning, Bible-believing ex-president is a right-thinking American in my view. Everyone should read this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0743284577/qid=1136307262/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/104-1587665-8880741?s=books&v=glance&n=283155 :patriot: :applause: :woohoo: :loveya:

2. I bought it and read parts of it over the weekend - wonderful! |
|
I love Jimmy Carter - he has a religious view that is actually helpful, sane, and in line with Jesus.
Unlike the Thunderous Bible Thumping Fuckwits(tm) of the Republican party.

4. While reading "The New American Militarism" ... |
|
The author reminded me that Carter was fairly controversial for being a born-again christian. The main thing that made him a good president was that he was reality-based, at least compared to the modern religeous-right.

5. I got it for Xmas but only read the first chapter. Have so many things |
|
to do. If I got off this site/computer...maybe I could finish it as I've also heard from others that it is very good and he bashes Bush* and his polices.

9. My spouse asked for it for Xmas. |

He got two copies. He gave one to his mother and I will read his copy when he finishes it.
I enjoyed Jimmy Carter's "Hour Before Daylight" book on growing up in GA.
Carter is a Real Christian. (Just in case anyone was confused by Dubya's and his Fundie's claim on Christianity.) Just his work on Habitat for Humanity is an amazing demonstration of his commitment to making this a better world.

10. Great minds. I just picked it up yesterday |

I figured I'd better read it since I bought it for my Dad for Christmas. I love Jimmy Carter. He's real. He and his wonderful wife Rosalyn are truly selfless people. (Rosalyn is my favorite First Lady.)

14. Yeah. I was pretty surprised. |

Seems like it was a popular gift this year. I'd love to send one to my in-laws, sisters, etc. ... but they probably wouldn't read it.
