1. Is hunting while intoxicated a crime??? |
|
How about hunting without a license?
Or maybe it was simply attempted murder.
There's just too much "accident' spin to be credible

5. i think whittington would have to press charges and he won't |
|
i would be pretty pissed if my friend shot a load of birdshot in my face but i guess i would feel he already felt bad enough and i would see no positive good coming out of throwing him in jail
it sounds like whittington is going to laugh it off as, let's face it, we prob. all would
i suspect cheney was drinking, and whittington as well, and it's just one of those things that can happen when you mix alcohol and guns
i sure don't object to holding cheney up to humor and scorn as a result of his poor shooting tho! let the late night comics have their field day, should be punishment enough for this crime

9. Would be like charging a fleeing mass-murderer with running a red light |
|
Very small potatoes, compared to what charges he should be facing.

mine was shot with a high powered rifle while elk hunting. He managed to get help but almost bled to death. He had a red checked wool coat on and a flouresent hunters vest. Had the bullet not struck a tree limb he would've died. The guy who shot him was never charged but his hunting license was suspended for a few years. My friend went to court every time it came up for renewal to see that it wasn't renewed. Eventually it was. He swears to this day the guy shot him on purpose(they didn't know each other) "Buck Fever" even though he knew it was a human. The guy came to the hospital almost every day to check on him and to apologize. Pretty soon my friend got tired of seeing the guy who almost killed him and said "You know, me and you are never going to be friends so you might as well leave me alone". So much for gun safety when you have a "Ted Knugent" type behind the trigger.
