5. The News of the World chair looks photoshopped in
and if I'm not mistaken, "News of the World" is like Midnight Globe.

However, it does seem like the white chair in the Lynndie photo is the same as in the Berg photo.

Which begs the question, How common were these white chairs in Iraq before the invasion?

Kind of a funny thing-- I can't remember ever seeing chairs like that (maybe I just wasn't paying attention?). But on the bus going to work today *in Japan*, I saw two chairs just like that white one, chained together, outside a store. :wtf:

6. I remember Nick Berg.
He was arrested on March 24, 2004. His parents were notified that he was in the custody of the United States Govt. who apparently handed him over to local authorities. Then he was be-headed. This young man was over there trying to bring an independent source of energy to Iraqis who lost power. He believed at the time that he was helping bring Democracy over there, and helping his family business.

14. Zacarias Moussaoui
On May 13, it was revealed that Nick Berg had been investigated during the U. S. government's investigation of Zacarias Moussaoui. Berg's email address had been used by Moussaoui prior to the September 11, 2001 attacks. According to Berg's father, Nick Berg had had a chance encounter with an acquaintance of Moussaoui on a bus in Norman, Oklahoma. This person had asked to borrow Berg's laptop computer to send an email. Berg gave the details of His own email account and password, which were later used by Moussaoui.

23. E-mail from consul confirms Berg was in U.S. military hands
http://www.wkrn.com/Global/story.asp?S=1865745

WEST CHESTER, Pa. (AP) - A U.S. diplomatic official in Iraq told the family of slain American Nicholas Berg in early April that he was being detained by the U.S. military, according to e-mails provided by the family Thursday.

U.S. government officials have said Berg, who was found dead last weekend in Baghdad, was detained by Iraqi police March 24 and was never in the custody of American forces.

He is believed to have been kidnapped within days of his April 6 release by either Iraqi police or coalition forces, and later beheaded by militants who videotaped the slaying.

To back its claims that Berg was in U.S. custody, the family showed The Associated Press an April 1 e-mail from Beth A. Payne, the U.S. consular officer in Iraq.

"I have confirmed that your son, Nick, is being detained by the U.S. military in Mosul. He is safe. He was picked up approximately one week ago. We will try to obtain additional information regarding his detention and a contact person you can communicate with directly," the e-mail said.

In two e-mails later that day, Payne wrote that she was still trying to find a local contact for the family.

Weren't they firing into a crowd when arrested by Iraqi police?

They were busted out of the prison.

I do believe there are dark, dark forces at work.

I'd hate to know for certain that extended to the cold-blooded murder of an American for no other reason than acquiring a horrifying film to use for propaganda.

36. The timing and circumstances were definitely suspect...
This came VERY SHORTLY on the heels of the Fallujah killings of the mercs.

I also remember Octavia Nassr, CNN's Arab affairs correspondent, translating the Berg video when it was first released and saying the "terrorists" spoke with a very definitive RUSSIAN accent. Remember, Berg was there on the insistence of a business partner, Joe Aziz. This same Joe Aziz (aka Aziz al-Taee) was involved with the RUSSIAN mob (and was prosecuted for selling plastic envelopes used for crack, in Pennsylvania). as well as being a member of Iraqi-American Council, one of the groups involved with Chalabi & Curveball in the run-up to the Iraq war.

37. Rummy's Strange Behavior
The news and/or video of the beheading became public on the day that Rummy was testifying in Congress about the torture pictures that had surfaced from Abu Ghraib. He was all down and defensive before the lunch break. He came back into chambers a changed man - defiant and blustering again.

I couldn't understand what might have made the difference until I caught a few threads here on DU discussing the whole Berg question. Torture had become okay with the American people again, now that they had seen what those nasty old Muslims did to Berg. Someone obviously talked to Rummy over the lunch break and gave him the good news.

--------

And in addition to what you say about Aziz, there were photos of him taken when he was speaking at a fr**p event. They had posted the photos online and someone here found them and posted the url fo the photos.

Aziz was also said (by himself, if I remember correctly) to have been the last person to talk to Berg before Berg disappeared. Berg had been disappeared for quite awhile - wasn't it several weeks? And then was killed when the torture photos started to really heat up.

It's all of this, in addition to everything said above, that makes you feel queasy. It goes far beyond a white plastic chair.

Wat

The question is: Why did those terrorist that supposedly beheaded Nic Berg have one of those? I still suspect that this was a black ops performed by a RW ops team. It seems to me that Berg was dead before his head was sawed off. This was used to counter criticism of the Abu Grahib torture situation.

29. Those chairs are found in large numbers all over the world.
When this discussion first came up two years ago, and the tinhatters were even more exercised than usual, shrieking about how the CIA had to have done it because those chairs could only come from Wal-Mart, someone posted numerous pictures from the Middle East of people sitting in--you guessed it--white plastic chairs. White plastic chairs are apparently popular wherever people need inexpensive seating. My neighborhood Dollar General has lots of them. Green ones, too.

Another person postulated that the killers had to have been American, because they were too fat to be Arabs, so I posted six or eight PubMed articles dealing with the epidemic of obesity in the Arab world. Then the focus became the killers' footwear--they were wearing sneakers, which apparently do not exist outside the U.S. And so on.

It's possible, of course, that Berg's death was something other than it appeared, but I would expect better evidence than white plastic chairs, sneakers, and some halfbaked theory that Arabs are never fat before believing it.

who here believes that the iraqi insurgents had orange prisoner suits for their kidnapped victims that they are about to behead? not even in wealthy saudi arabia do they use these orange prison suits.

The other thing that caught my attention was the color of the captors skin.. (I don't mean that as a racial thing, just an observation.) If you look at Berg's skin in the video his skin is pale white.. His captors are dressed in ethnic garb, but you can still see shots of skin. (Wrists, forearms, and so forth) The captors skin is the same color as Berg's. That always stuck with me for some reason.

48. FBI Tells Enormous Lie About Nick Berg
FBI Tells Enormous Lie About Nick Berg
Michael P. Wright -- Norman, Oklahoma, USA

August 19, 2005

In a letter sent to me in response to a Freedom of Information Act request, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) tells an enormous lie. They don’t admit to having ever investigated Nick Berg. Strictly speaking, they say that their "central record" files located no records at "headquarters" to indicate that Berg has ever been of "investigatory interest to the FBI." Then they invite me to check with their various field offices. Here is the FBI letter.

55. These are the worst looking terrorists I've ever seen.

White tennis shoes ? These are the flakiest looking killers Ive ever seen.

I have read that some of the guns they where carrying and ammunition belts were not typical of al quada, and the video of his beheading was edited .

I put nothing past these nazis we have in our White House.

61. East Dearborn, Michigan (Arabic town) porches are full of these.
Dearborn has more Middle Easterners than anywhere outside of the M.E.
The east end has the heaviest concentration.

The M.E. culture of having many visiting discussers sitting outside on porches is well served by these ubiquitous stackable chairs now seen on nearly every porch.

65. It's a lightweight, cheap, mass-produced, stacking chair.
There must be tens of millions of them. I imagine the military likes them because they're easy to transport.

66.  I notice that a few of the above posters have only 3 chairs

My theory, the fourth enlisted.
I know they lowered their standards for enlistment, but really now.
Every one who has these chairs will tell you they crack under pressure.
I just hope they have proper counseling when they come home.I don't want to hear stories of chairs with post traumatic stress syndrome. :7
