A good companion movie to Brokeback Mountain
An early, I think first, film of Ang Lee's is called the Wedding Banquet. It was filmed in 91 and is about an Taiwanese American who marries Chinese American so she can stay in the country and he can fool his parents into thinking he is straight. Unlike Brokeback it is a comedy and is also technically a foreign film. It is around half in English half in Chinese in subtitles.

2. It is a brilliant film
I just watched it again tonight and it is really well done, especially for a first film. Ang Lee is quite the director. Other than the Hulk which was pretty bad, not a single clunker.

6. Ang Lee can film a picture. I think he's going to have a very happy
evening on March 5th out in Los Angeles.

THE WEDDING BANQUET is splendid. BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN is a landmark film.

Mr. Lee rocks.

8. That was a good movie.
Have you seen "My Beautiful Laundrette"? It was also a good one. I think Daniel Day Lewis is in it.
