Cheney -- what if?
What if Cheney had been Latino or African-American instead of a white guy?

What if Cheney had been a teen ager instead of comfortably past middle age?

What if Cheney had shot a pretty, 14 year old white girl instead of a 78 year old white lawyer?

What if Cheney had just been some dude out hunting - instead of a millionaire, Republican VP?

1. RE: The last one.
Likely, if experience in NJ is any barometer, he would be charged with something. Anything. But charged.

6. They may "go to jail" for a felony
But when I lived in the rural Adirondacks - they did get fined.

5. Best Justice Money Can Buy
This is something I've seen too many times and surely bet things were overlooked here as well. There are two systems of justice in this country...one for those who can afford to buy their way out of the system (or have friends) and those who don't and get sucked in. If you've got the right lawyer or know the right person to call, and no one's really paying attention, you throw some money around and everyone forgets what happened in a hurry.

I'm not going to pre-judge until I get more facts, and I'll give Crashcart the benefit of the doubt the shooting was an accident. What I'll be more interested in seeing is how well this case is investigated and/or prosecuted. If Chenney was drunk...he should be held liable in some manner. I get a feeling we'll be staying tuned to this one for a few days...and this isn't something Crashcart would like us to be paying attention to.

This dude loves to operate in the dark...throwing light on him is what he hates the most. Here's hoping he gets a kleig light constantly shed on him for the rest of his public life.
