interesting how the Dems have progressed, while gopers have regressed

One of my coworkers is a neocon, started talking about how Lincoln was a Republican, and how many Democrats were against civil rights, and about Robert Byrd once being in the KKK. I finally had to shut him up by reminding him that was all in the PAST. Byrd has completely disavowed the actions of his youth, while gopers like Trent Lott still run off the mouth with their racist comments.

3. Political labels are pretty meaningless from a longterm perspective.

Even today....is Bush Republicanism conservative? Does it follow any ideology? Nah, they are just criminals using government to loot the taxpayer and enrich themselves. But labels are important from a personal ID standpoint.
