Put on that tinfoil hat for my latest theories...
The coming police state and peak oil...
Well, it's already here. But why would the gov't want to go to the colossal cost, the bloated bureaucracy and the daily fear tactics?

Many people have argued that the current police state is because PNAC wants to control the worlds resources through military means and thus needs to create a feeling of national threat, by which they can control the U.S. population and have us become the worker bees for their bizarre policy. aka: dumbing down the population, keep salaries low, track everyone, spy on everything, this way it smothers any dissent or organized revolt or protest.

Or my theory...

They are doing all of the above because they are fully aware of peak oil and the unrest it will create in the U.S. aka revolution. The last thing people in power want it dissent or revolution, so they are doing all of these things to control the pop in the likely event of very very high oil prices and they don't get their asses kicked out of power.

Also

Right now, the U.S. has poured billions of our money down the toilet in Iraq and it's "reconstruction" aka wholesale pocket lining and bribery, with nothing to show for it, except 2180 dead soldiers 16000+ wounded and anywhere between 80k-120k dead civilians. Why have they given up on Iraq? (the latest story is the U.S. not giving anymore reconstruction monies to Iraq), because they know full well it's a lost cause and they don't want to keep pumping money in to a country only for it to end up in Iran or to the Clerics that are pro-Iran.

my theory...

So instead of actually coming up with a real plan to fix their fuck up, they want to hand over Iraq, per say, to Iran as damaged goods. Thinking that if Iran does absorb Iraq as a satellite they will have to pay big bucks to unfuck our fuck up, thus bankrupting them.

Like I said, tinfoil hat time...

1. The big question is
The next time a Democrat gets into the White House is he/she going to be able to undo the damage done by the corporatists and PNAC fascists...or is he/she going to just throw a few sheckles to the needy and otherwise continue business as usual?

3. sorry, doesn't make sense...
You could basically leave Iraq as it is--why would Iran have to repair it when they could dominate the scene with their army at a much lower cost?

5. And that is why it's a tinfoil hat theory...
yes, Iran could and probably will leave it alone, but if they want to control the oil fields, they will have to invest large sums of money. And if they invest in the oil fields, then they will invest in the infrastructure...mission creep. best laid plans...

6. I have always looked at the military bases as morons*...
version of West Germany during the cold war. We kept bases there to send a message to the soviets. However, what kind of message is moron* sending to the Islamic world?
