how he himself talks about this -- Whittington is a lawyer, and he just got shot. If I were he, I'd be pretty pissed about the whole idea that it was all my fault. . .when I'm the one lying in the hospital bed.

saw an interview with Ms. Armstrong on CBS morning news and she states that Whittington had decided to rejoin the party when he was shot. Yesterday she was quoted in newspapers as stating that he was retrieving a dead bird when he was shot.

Maybe she was misquoted in the printed version, but it will be interesting to see how much the story changes over time.

Whittington shot with "pellet" gun
Whittington face looks like he has chickenpox
Whittington was shot with BB's
Whittington's ego sorely deflated

So, so far we have Whittington trying to do suicide by Veep, shot with simple pellet gun loaded with BB's, and he has a case of the simple chickenpox and ego issues.
