democrat koolaid vs republican koolaid
It really irritates me that such a large number of people hold the idea that just because someone in office is a democrat they are some how more noble, more honest and more trustworhty.

STOP DRINKING THE KOOL-AID.

Democrat or Republican or independent it doesnt matter they are still at the core a "POLITICIAN" and should be treated with all the trust you have of a pissed off cobra that has taken up residence in your house.

Trust but Verify and never give them carte blanch on anything!

Create a lawful open sourced version of government where slime is immediately known and cast out!

okay...rant over.

4. Democrats would say that, that's for certain.
I don't recall any koolaid-tinged support of Schmoe Lieberman(D) here, can you?

2. It depends on the Democratic Politician
There are a few who've had kool-aid drinks with Republican bartenders.

3. Well, most of us ascribe to the Democratic perspective here, so
it would be a natural conclusion that we do believe the Democratic view of priorities, values and methods are preferable to those of the republicans, if you are comparing politicians of different stripes.

We make comparisons based on the subset of politicians. Maybe you missed that in the whole "political forum website" set-up.

Were you looking for some other kind of website???

Edited on Tue Jan-03-06 01:35 PM by Desertrose
.....doesn't mean they are automatically better than repubs.

Granted, many are, but there are still too many "politicians" out there on BOTH sides.

Good post!

8. Are you kidding?
Of course if someone is in office and is a Democrat they are more noble, honest and trustworthy than a Republican.

You haven't been paying attention to the Republicans. Let me give you a quick, highlighted refresher.

They've done away with habeas corpus, a law that was part of our rights since the magna charta. They've taken the position that the laws we imposed on the rest of the world at Nuremburg outlawing torture don't apply to us, and they've actually tortured people. They've taken bribes from corporations and voted in favor of the corporations. They've bought elections. They've redistricted racial minorities out of their voting rights. They've tried to sunset the Voting Rights Act.

If someone is in office and is a Democrat, they are more noble, honest and trustworthy than this. Shit, my criminal clients are nobler than this.

10. If forced to choose between our bastards and theirs, I choose ours.
Republicans have gotten to where they are by being the most amoral kinds of scumbags. We can reform the system once we own it.

11. We should focus attention on the immediate danger: an out of control GOP.
DINOs can be dealt with later.

12. Once the Federal Government level is reached for politicians...
They do not give a shit about 'We The People,' unless it will benefit them at a later time (campaign claims). While the Democratic Party does a better job of representing all citizens equally, both Democrats and Republicans serve their Corporate Masters and 'The Powers That Be' over 'We The People.'

Don't get me wrong, the modern Republicans are a cancer to this nation, but it is hard to treat the cancer when Democrats refuse to admit there is a cancer rotting this nation and only turn a blind eye to it.
