What happens to the game these great hunters kill?
You think Davy Crockett Cheney packs up all the pheasant and quail he kills and takes them back to the White House for the chefs to dress and cook?

3. Cheney's Mishap--Not So Funny Anymore
As usual, DailyKos nails it.
Cheny and his ilk take part in canned hunts in which birds are pen-reared and released to be shot in large numbers by patrons. The ethics of these hunts are called into question by rank-and-file sportsmen, who hunt animals in their native habitat and do not shoot confined or pen-raised animals that cannot escape.
Last weekend's hunt may or may not not have been canned, but this reminder from 2003 of the Cheney's sociopathy just reinforces the image that I have of him.

5. Well, in the case of the much-feared...
and deadly quail, they usually mount the head, and then later they can discuss their exploits of killing this most elusive quarry.

6. At least let's hope they feed them to the dogs and cats.
It would be awful if they just threw them in the trash.

8. i don't know about the cheney hunt
but i remember seeing stories about these canned hunts and "big game museums" that took the game killed by hunters for display in "museums". the museum, or their agents, arranged the hunts and the "donation" of the animals. then the hunters, usually guys with money to spend on exotic hunts, got a tax write off for the donations. the amount of the write off would be based on the value of the trophy, as determined by....the "museum". so the hunters could essentially get their hunting subsidized.

found a link. apparently this tax loophole was closed.

9. Shooting reared/penned creatures for sport (sic) is just shitty
I live in the middle of red deer stalking country in Scotland and I have no difficulty with culling if it's done properly by taking out older animals or those that might die off during a hard winter. Likewise, I have no difficulty with shooting rabbits or wood pigeons or taking a reasonable surplus of other WILD game. I used to do it myself.

But killing birds that have been reared just so they can then be shot is out of order.

10. I think Cheney stuffs the bloody, mutilated body into his mouth
feathers and all and just swallows them whole. That's what I heard, anyway.
