After "never point your gun at anyone," the second thing I learned in gun safety is to keep your finger off the trigger until you were aiming at a target. Ol' Whittington DOES look a bit like a quail though. Only larger and wearing an orange vest.

Sorry but these excuses are full of crap.

Several here have posted that you must be aware of your target and whatever is behind your target BEFORE you pull the trigger. My dad was military and he taught me to shoot when I was very young -- he always said that it is the shooter's responsibility to always be aware of what was behind the target. Cheney is trigger happy -- this is his personality. He is a danger to the world.
